(Didn’t know where to put the thread)
Hello everyone, umm I’ve been following the recent progress of our community a bit and.. I think I want to try streaming a little. Thing is, I dont have much experiance with this – I only streamed and casted one game about a year ago.
What I’m planning to stream now is rather than only going for showing when I’m playing – maybe do some guides as well to get the new players going and such, and maybe even starting to cast some games in Swedish to build our side of the community.
So I was wondering if there was anyone that could maybe help me get going with this?
Is there any program that you recomend? (I have Livestream procaster installed, but maybe there is a better choice?)
Do you lagg when you stream? How do you prevent this?

XSplit is good, but it can only capture if you are playing in window mode.

ofc you are, stream will be using good chunk of your cpu and bandwidth.
How do you prevent this?
Having a beast pc that can handle stream and providing smooth game and good internet connection with high upload.

download shiftwindow – problem solved.
To stream TF2 without lagging, you need one of these absolute monster £2k PC’s with SLI’d high end gfx cards and such.
I dunno why honestly. It just does. :
I still get fps lag when trying to stream at any kind of quality, which makes me sad, so unfortunately you don’t get to listen/watch the swimping good time we have in PCW’s.
Could you just record mumble and a demo and then record the demo? so you won’t lag while your playing :p

I think u didn’t understand me, xsplit cant capture video when you are using full screen ingame. If u change to window and -noborder with ur monitor resolution then it will be look like fullscreen and u can capture video, but for me there is some tiny lag when playing windowed, so i prefer not.
im using xsplit now over 6-7 months and i can capture some games while playing in full screen mode, you just have to experiment, and capturing tf2 games without lag is also possible, easiest way is to capture while watching stv or demos, but if you want to capture your own gameplay you have to do some tweakings
Anyone know if 2500k @ 4.8ghz and a gtx 560 ti are enough to stream tf2 when playing? Have 100/100 fiber, so that’s not an issue.

ye its enough, but playing is not the same, u will always have a little “lag”.
try fps_max 0 it eliminates lag on same i5’s
