or maybe added mipmaps on minimum aswell, since the low texture pack look much better on normal graphics settings

Looks like something similar to my flat texture setup. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22648677/tf2/flat%20textures.zip Plus maybe $no_draw on some cosmetic props, something I haven’t fiddled with yet.
And no, there isn’t anything else done to lower the visual noise. The game just relies that much on textures to hide things like the vertex lighting on the crates.
I did everything it said on the tutorial for ATI and my game just keeps on crashing when I try to open it :c
EDIT: Im an idiot, I had ATI Tray Tools on when I tried to open TF2.

AFAIK that is really just a vertex-style lightmap.
i’ve install ati tray tool, i have no problems with it but it doesnt lower the graphics at all.

u should have catalyst AI at least on medium

CCC clashes with ati tray tools, uninstall CCC.
is there a way that I don’t have to change the LOD settings every time I want to record with the pldx tool?
Dunno if it works but associate the LOD 0 to pldx recorder. Then when you launch it, LOD will be restore to 0. But you’ll have to put it back to 10 when you play.

uninstalled. makes no change
possible that they have patched it in latest drivers? if u really want to try, just head to archive and try some 1year old drivers
CCC 11.6, ATT 1.7.9.1557, works fine.
AnimaL, are you using the custom CFG linked to the OP?
When I do this it doesn’t work. TF2 closes when I try to open it without an error.

no i havnt used lod hack since year ago, but then it was working fine even with ccc installed

installed these versions. hopefully it’ll work
if not maybe att cant do anything on a HD5770
