I use max quality cfg with an Intel Core i5(Sandybridge) @3.30GHz
4gb ram
Radeon HD 5850 Twin FrozR II 1024MB
1980×720 res.
120fps constant
omg just use fps_max 60 and gg

bad troll iz bad
Q6600 @2,4ghz, hd4870x2, 4gb ram
fps_max set to 150, resolution 1680×1050 rarely drops below with everything set to high..
starts getting worse on 32-player servers, but on 6on6 it runs absolutely smooth.
intel i7 920 3.35GHZ
6GB ram (3x2gb) DDR3 1333MHz
2x EVGA 295gtx quad SLI
1920×1200
Max quality config @ 150 fps.
chris highframes
i5 750 @ 4.2ghz
4gb ddr3
ati 4850
1920 x 1200
runs at 120 fps stable even mids thats like a 3 year old graphics card
i now have a second ati 4850 in crossfire and i run nearly stable 240 fps, mid fights is 200- 220
i use 1920×1080 now
i cant believe that anyone who has anything less than 3 year old hardware cant run this at 120 stable. all you need is a cpu running at around 3.5 ghz mark and anything better than an ati 4830 and you will have 120 stable at mid on chris high frames.

Related question/new challenge:
Should you try to run fps_max 241 when using 120hz?
Better questions: how many fools have bought a 120hz moniter, but don’t own a pc that can hold tf2 stable at 120+ frames? =D

Actually, studies show that people do see it :). The human eye is able to detect changes that are only shown for 1/100 of a sec (or even faster).
There’s an xx number of fps that is needed to get a smooth experience, but that doesn’t mean it wont get better after that.
yeah, the “human eye can only see 24 fps” story is a myth
Higher fps and lower delay is noticeable and useful (but not required).
