that won’t make a difference since ropes are disabled anyway, but i will fix the typo next version.
some people are reporting enabling facial animations is not working, i will work out why now and release a fix.
what do you mean by how do i ‘test’ them? timedemo and beta testers.
actually, why are the textures set to high? what boost would i get if they’re on low?

They are set to high because anyone running this getting decent fps should have a GPU capable of it. Any GPU that is running this and getting decent FPS should have enough memory to handle the textures — I’d say anything 256mb or over should be fine.
All configs (including dx9frames) updated to fix bug where deleting the section to enable facial features would not enable facial features

Thanks Chris, I now have ~650 fps instead of 400-500!
Found one thing though; “Unknown command “snd_mixahead””
imho tf_particles_disable_weather should be set to 0

So I recorded a demo on a 32 man goldrush server..
with maxframes
2474 frames 44.308 seconds 55.84 fps (17.91 ms/f) 5.260 fps variability
with dx9 highframes
2474 frames 43.548 seconds 56.81 fps (17.60 ms/f) 5.446 fps variability
How can this be? :o Awesome job Chris

dx9frames is awesome but i’m not getting the results like rarecandy. Still good results none the less!

then a particular part of your computer is struggling at certain particle effects.
it’s probably because your GPU can’t take whatever effect is being generated and offloads it to the CPU.
