TF2.fi and Peliliiga will organize a TF2 tournament with prizes at Assembly Summer 2009, which is held in Helsinki 6th-9th August. Here is the official announcement:
Peliliiga and TF2.fi bring a whole new dimension to eSports: the Team Fortress 2 – 3D Challenge!
The 3D tournament is played on the latest and greatest hardware from Nvidia, Samsung and Jimm’s PC Store. The Jimm’s PC Store 3D gaming rig comes equipped with Samsung 120Hz TFT display and Nvidia’s GeForce 3D Vision glasses. The Team Fortress 2 – 3D Challenge is the world’s first competitive eSports tournament played entirely in 3D! The Challenge will be played on the ASSEMBLY Summer 2009’s main eSports stage, alongside the World Cyber Games Finnish Finals.
The Team Fortress 2 – 3D Challenge total prize pool is composed of cash and hardware worth thousands of euros. Final prizes will be revealed closer to ASSEMBLY Summer 2009.
The Team Fortress 2 – 3D Challenge played using the standard competitive 6 vs 6 TF2 rules. The Challenge is an invitation-only tournament and the organizers choose the participating teams based on past achievements. In case of mixed and new teams, decisions will be based on the general skill level of the team’s players. Participants are required to purchace a ticket to the ASSEMBLY Summer 2009 event.
To sign up for the Team Fortress 2 – 3D Challenge, please send your team’s information to [email protected] with the team name, the clan tag, and a complete list of players with nicknames, real names and SteamID’s. Deadline for the signups is Sunday 19th July 2009.

The Assembly Summer 2009 is the largest and most respected “demo-scene” event in the world. Assembly has a 18 year history and they expect over 5000 visitors to join the event and the competitions. Tickets to the event cost 35 euros. The competition PCs are provided by the organizers.
