Have you thought about dropping the minimum donation level? It’s paypal, so maybe 5€ is a minimum, but teams already fork out $30 for a server for 3 months, so maybe a little more motivation like max 1 hour per day for non-donators would drive up your donation. It’s a really great service, and I’d donate myself right now if we didn’t have our own private server, but such motivations might push myself and others in my situation to donate for the backup service.

1 hour max per day would rather be discouraging for returning visitors. Remember that some teams dont have access to money because underage players hence why serveme exist. To help poor sad ppl.
1 hour is way too little considering it takes even at 30 minutes to get the team and opponent team on the server.
And at top of that you can only play 1 map when teams play more than just that?
But i guess it doesnt hurt to experiment with the max hours plays allowed per day.
Same with lobby as it takes times to start lobby up depending at what time you are playing.

our server wasnt working now for our pcw.. cant rent any cause theyre all in use by tf2lobby babies

just so this comment isn’t useless.
Your complaining about not being able to use a free service because other people are using it, which is kind of ridiculous. (the fact that its a tf2lobby doesn’t make it less important than your PCW, even though obviously in from your eyes it does).
Get a new server or donate to have access to donator only servers.

I donated and haver never been without server since.
Any chance you could include an aimbot / permanent crits on the server for players who donate more? I could definetly use that and i would consider spending more.

On top of the halved spawn times and double heal rate donator perks? That would be imba!
If 2 hours per session is already a lower limit of usefulness, then perhaps something like total number of hours within a given number of days could work instead. I wouldn’t know whether to propose something like 4 days or 2 weeks per how many sessions.
Another thing to think about could be different restrictions for players who use it for lobbies and those who don’t. As well to think about, if 4 friends get together to lobby everyday then they can alternate who uses their service hours, whilst the loner who starts a 5th lobby so he can play demoman can only hog up the servers so much.
But these are only suggestions; it’s your service and so your choice, of course.

yes obviously in my eyes it does. i figured that was the original intent of the service, not to provide russians with a free way to clog up tf2lobby. sorry if i got this wrong.
no intention of getting a new server since 99% of the time it works fine, and i might throw some money this way as thanks and as a guarantee but that doesnt detract from my original complaint.

TF2Lobby was down today. Last week on Saturday there were 192 reservations, today, 61.
Didn’t realize TF2Lobby was such a big part :P
Dunno if it has been suggested in the thread, but if you allow tf2 item donations, in form of keys/buds etc., like tf2outpost, I bet you could get a huge increase in donations. I’d chip in with a bud, I am just too piss poor to donate any real money.
June stats:
Number of reservations: 4859
Reservation length: 204 days 7 hours 10 minutes 52 seconds
Busiest day: 26th of june (196 reservations)
Busiest users: |EC| ScootyBootyMan (122), SELL ME A FUCKING SEARING PIPE (96), ♙Scissors :< (93)
Busiest server: FB #1 (~20 days)
Donations: 45 euros (+10 for NA version)
Due to the relatively low amount of donations in june, I'm skipping the EU payout and saving it for next month (hopefully), but these would have been the amounts:
FB: 19.22 euros (42.7%)
nTraum: 2.67 euros (6%)
VanillaTV: 12.84 euros (28.5%)
Maidos: 3.16 euros (7%)
slate: 4.53 euros (10%)
Team Colonslash: 2.55 euros (5.7%)
June donations had some past-last minute additions by two repeat offenders. That does mean it makes sense to pay the server providers.
Only one accepted so far (so he can donate it to some TF2 cause), the others refused to accept their shares, so those will go to the FB server money pit for now.
I’ve added a little notice telling people that donations of well tradable TF2 items (that I can sell and share the profits from) are also welcome and will give you donator status. Or you can just donate something nice to say thanks (but not get donator status for that).
If it turns out this is popular, I’ll probably have to run/build a steam trade bot.

* Reactivated Maidos’ servers (19 free servers, 3 donator-only servers in total now)
* Updated a bunch of stuff under the hood (e.g. upgraded to rails 4 for you nerds out there)
