umm.. now i haven’t tried just pushing an rcon command to a relay server from a php/perl/whatever script but it cant be done through hlsw.

Strange. It works from TF2 though. Started a server without a map or relay already enabled, only rcon_password was described to launch parameters:

] rcon_address blaablaa.fi:27020
] rcon_password blaa
] rcon echo test
test // server replied, so it works.

Apparently SourceTV relays can be controlled via RCON, so the web site could just randomly pick a relay from server pool (relay admin’s can add up their relay’s to server pool without restrictions) and web site will send the command to relay 1-2min before the match.

nice idea.

But then i think you need to do a limit like 2 relays per 1 ip in 30-60 min. :)

So I wondered if anyone would be interested in this….and it seems there is a few, yeah. We had a massively whopping, incredibly jaw smacking…..ermm, ok, a ‘showing a reasonable enough amount of interest’ 53 spectators, for the Div4 playoff between OS and versus: http://etf2l.org/matches/24420/ , so if anyone wants to make use of the relays, it’s simple to arrange so post here, add me or join #tf2.relays on Quakenet and get your match shown.

Any div, any match, get it out there. We’ve got 2 running at the moment, so let’s get some use out of them guys.

Best way is to go to Team Admin, your matches, and then add stv. That puts it up on the front page of etf2l.org, which has [Some ridiculous number of hits a day, feel free to edit this any admin that knows!] hits a day, and it’ll be published (?) in the #etf2l channel on Quakenet too.
