Recruitment

ScoutSniperSoldier  Div 4 Skill, 6v6

Scotland styuR

Posted: | Last Online:

Brand new to TF2, willing to give it a try.
Played CS:S to a good level but have next to zero idea about TF2 so looking for a team to teach me the game, I've got good aim etc so that's not a problem, just need to learn the tactics of TF2. I put div 4 cause I believe I'd probably hit this fairly low level pretty quickly as I learn the game due to having good aim.
I'm 19 & Scottish btw.

Literally don’t care what division the team is as I need to learn the game first, would preferably like to join a semi-decent team so I don’t pick up any bad habits though.

No. Not div4/3 , try playing some div6 games at first m8. TF2 is NOTHING about aim sadly.
And i’d advise you to read this : http://etf2l.org/forum/league/topic-12510/?recent=274229
Good luck have fun and Welcome to ETF2L tho ;)

    “Played CS:S to a good level” – ?????????

LANdodger that managed to slay0r at the one LAN he did go to.

Lovely man as long as he isn’t surrounded by the likes he played CS:S with.

As for div 4/3, he is a massive onliner and has some strong aim in CS:S and seeing as the season’s just finished, I don’t see there being any reason he can get to grips with TF2 to a div4 standard at least before a new season is announced.

    Good luck sir.

    Nostalgia, are you serious?

If somebody is brand new to TF2, I don’t think div 4 in your first season is a good plan, getting used to the 6v6 format (which is different than any other format, due to the fact that the TF2 classes are completely different) takes time, and positioning, pushes, working with uber etc is something you need to pick up before even thinking of div 4 :P

I’d say try your luck in div 6/5, but I wouldn’t go for anything higher yet in your first season.

I’m used to 6v6 from playing Crysis 2 in the run up to i42, didn’t notice a huge difference.

lol blorg they’re both in-game now, how they can be one?

Still standing by my opinion that he’ll be a div 4 standard when he gets more games under his belt and by the time Season 10 is here I have no doubt he’ll be div 4 standard minimum. He’s been picking up the basics like a champ.

Oh look it’s the div5 skill police brigade, jesus christ.

Played with him earlier as solly and scout and he had solid div 5/4 deathmatch on both, good sniper too. Considering it was his first ever match he fragged well and wasn’t really out of position majorly considering he’d hadn’t played granary much before. Nostalgia is teaching him the map basics and once he has more map and game knowledge could fit into div4 pretty comfortably i’d imagine.

Presuming blorg is a troll but just for those who don’t realise they are different people, unfortunately they are still both Scottish but no one i perfect ;D

There seems to be this low div elitest culture emerging atm from below div3 downwards that seem to instantly stigmatise and exclude anyone from outside other games who seem to have more potential and be progressing faster than them.

They seem to be upset, annoyed, even angry that these guys can move up faster because they’re able to grasp the aiming style quicker due to previous fps experience and already comms better due to the same competitive fps experience.

Rather than pushing these guys away, these are exactly the people we should be encouraging to take up our game. This right of passage nonsense of you need to work your way up and have a first season in a lower div crap. I mean i started in div3 and i’m fucking terrible and have barely progressed since so maybe i’m not the greatest example but the principle is the same. Grow up and give everyone a fair opportunity and help people who are interested in the game progress, jeez.

Played a few mixes with styuR. Already has div4 solly aim in what was apparently first tf2 match, just needs to learn the maps and where sollies go and what they actually do in TF2 :p

With a summer of mixes/practise under belt presume would fit fine into a div4 team.
