Archimedes Cup powered by scrap.tf: FAQ

What am I allowed to play when I have played a match each in two different seasons in division 6?
– You’re restricted to be a Buddy, so you may only play Medic.

Am I allowed to play as normal participant even though I am on a division 4 team’s roster, but have only ever played officials in a single season of division 6?
– Yes.

Are players from outside the EU allowed to participate?
– Yes, absolutely. We will apply the same experience restrictions we apply to EU players based on the players’ local leagues, e.g. ESEA for North American players: A single season of the local League’s lowest skill group. When in doubt, contact us! Matches will be played at European times on European servers.

I have played in the Highlander Open Cup before, does this affect my eligibility for classes other than Medic?
– No. We do not take any cups into account when determining if a player’s competitive experience.

Can our Buddy, who is restricted to play only Medic, off-class to e.g. Pyro for a clutch defense on a last capture point?
– No.

Is there a way for individual players to sign up and get matched with other random players?
– We have a “player looking for teams” thread here on ETF2L, and there’s another one for teams looking for players, check them out.

Do you have to apply anywhere to be a buddy? Can’t you just create a team and play Medic for them?
– The latter is absolutely fine.

Must a team have a buddy?
– No.

Should we sign up as regular 6v6 or as fun 6v6 team?
– It doesn’t matter, we’ll merge both team types into the same cup. The split sign-ups are merely a limitation of our backend.

Where do I sign up with my team?
Here (only accessible for team leaders/buddies)
