Ever wanted a gamemode that emphasises the movement in a movement based shooter before? One where DM can take the backseat and you can show everyone that all that time on Tempus wasn’t just so you could call yourself a “Tier 3 Jumper”? Or are you perhaps just bored with the 6v6 Nations Cup #10 ongoing and not being apart of it? Well… Introducing The ETF2L Passtime Cup!
Passtime is a 4v4 gamemode that is based around movement, as well as teamwork. The objective is simple, score the jack into the enemy teams goal. The maps however allow for an excellent display of movement mechanics, being full of ramps for you to surf along, as well as trimp off to help you get that slam dunk into the opposing goal. Rules and Whitelist
The rules for Passtime are simple:
- A game is played in rounds. The winner is the first to win 2 rounds. A round is won by scoring 5 points, or whoever has the highest score after 10 minutes.
- Teams may consist of: 3 soldiers, 1 demo and 1 medic. As it is played in 4v4, any arrangement of classes can be picked within these limits.
Passtime has a very limited whitelist to go along with the class restrictions. All hitscan weapons are BANNED. (Including the Shotgun!) This is due to hitscan sending a flying jack into neutral, making the jack not score once in the goal, significantly slowing the gameflow down as it allows players to sit passively and negate a team from scoring at all. Projectiles can also do this, however, it’s a lot harder to do. Alongside this, stickybomb launchers of any kind are also banned, as they allow the demo to jump across the map with the jack and score very easily. With that in mind, here are the list of ALLOWED weapons! (including stock weapons.)

Schedule
- Signups: NOW! – June 21st 18:00 CEST
- Group Stages: June 24th – July 19th
- Playoffs: July 21st – TBA (Signup Dependant)
The cup will be played over 3 weeks in swiss, with playoffs starting from July 15th and length will be decided once signups are closed. Due to this being a new gamemode and focusing more on the movement mechanics of TF2 rather than DM, we will be hosting swiss as one group.

Playing Passtime
The above maps, as well as required plugins and CFG for Passtime will be available on any server hosted through Serveme.tf. The CFG to execute is etf2l_passtime.cfg
