Welcome to our Spring Season of Highlander!

It’s that time of year again. 6s is (almost) over and that means we get to move onto what some would say is the better gamemode! We are happy to announce that the signups for our Spring Highlander season are now open until the May 10th, 18:00 CEST!

Highlander Spring Season 2023 Schedule

• Signups: 24th Apr. – 10th May 18:00 CEST
  -Premiership and Division 1 signups will close early, on May 7th at 18:00 CEST
• Publishing of Provisional Divisions: May 10th
• Publishing of Final Divisions:  May 13th
• Premiership Qualifiers: 8th May – 14th May
• Main Season: 14th May – 16th June
• Playoffs: 18th June – 2nd July

Map pool

For Premiership and Division 1 we have scheduled a meeting for 27th of April at 19:00 CEST (this Thursday) with the leaders to talk about the use of the picks and bans system.
If you feel like you have been left out, please open a league admin ticket on our Discord server.

Whitelist

There are no changes to the whitelist for the Highlander Spring Season 2023 as of now.
We are going to see how whitelist changes will be seen by the players after the Preseason Cup.

Rule changes

According to last season’s poll, we will revert the change made to the koth golden cap rule.

Should we revert the koth golden cap rule change? (Prem/D1)

Yes – 66,70%
No –  33,30%

Should we revert the koth golden cap rule change? (D2 and below)

Yes – 63,30%
No –  36,70%

Preseason Cup

The cup will have the format of a 3 matches group stage with a playoff stage, and will be played on May 6th and Sunday May 7th.

The map pool will consist of koth_proside_v1,  koth_daenam_b12, and cp_sultry_b8.

We’ll also use the preseason cup to try a small whitelist change:

• Darwin’s Danger Shield – banned

The whitelist can be found here: https://whitelist.tf/etf2l_9v9_s29pre and can be executed with the following command: “rcon tftrue_whitelist_id etf2l_9v9_s29pre”, or “rcon tftrue_whitelist_id 13698”.

For cp_sultry_b8, a new config is also being tested that brings the round times in line with the current 6v6 config, as well as the max round limit being changed to 5. This config can be found here:

Schedule
Signups are open from April 24th until May 4th at 20:00 CET.

Group Stage – Saturday May 6th:

• Round 1: 19:00 – koth_proside_v1
• Round 2: 20:00 – cp_sultry_b8
• Round 3: 21:00 – koth_daenam_b12

Playoff Stage – Sunday May 7th:

• Quarter Finals BO1: 19:00 – Ban/Ban/Decider
• Semi Finals BO1: 20:00 – Ban/Ban/Decider
• Grand Finals BO3: 21:00 – Pick/Pick/Decider

Promotions

Last season’s winners of each Division/Tiers will automatically be promoted to the next higher Division/Tier, unless their starting roster has changed by half or more of their players.

All promotions are open to admin discretion. This is in order to make sure the tiers are as good as they can possibly be. If you are uncertain about being promoted you can follow the below mentioned sign-up process to give additional information about your team.

Sign-up Process

First and foremost you must sign up your team here: https://etf2l.org/wp/wp-admin/index.php?page=comps

An email does not count as signing up to the upcoming season and is only meant to give further information regarding your team and its placement.

Please note that the success of your request also strongly depends on the free slots in the tier you aim for. Established teams will be favored over new teams or teams that request to jump a tier.

Premiership Division
If you intend to sign up for the Premiership Tier we encourage you to do so as soon as possible. Due to the Premiership Qualifiers happening while signups are still open; we will only consider teams for the Premiership Qualifiers that signed up before the scheduled deadline. Additionally, we expect teams without a guaranteed Premiership Division spot to be able to compete on the provided Premiership Qualifier dates.

We expect all aspiring Premiership Tier teams to either send us an email ([email protected]) or directly contact a league admin on Steam or the ETF2L Discord with the following:
– Team name, Division you apply for and ETF2L link
– Roster
– Recent results and logs associated to them
– Reasons why your team deserves to be placed in the the Premier Division

Teams that do not send an email or contact admins risk losing their spot in the Premiership Qualifiers.

Division 1 and Division 2 (High)
If you intend to sign up for Division 1 or Division 2 you must sign up to “High tier” when signing up for the season. We encourage you to send us an email ([email protected]) with the following:
– Team name, Division you apply for and ETF2L link
– Roster
– Recent results and logs associated to them
– Reasons why your team deserves to be placed in the tier you applied for (optional)

Mid (Division 3 and 4) and Low (Division 5)
If you intend to sign up for Division 3 (Mid), Division 4 (Mid) and Division 5 (Low) and wish to be placed in a specific division/tier we encourage you to send us an email ([email protected]) with the following:
– Team name, Division you apply for and ETF2L link
– Roster
– Recent results and logs associated to them
– Reasons why your team deserves to be placed in the tier you applied for (optional)

Open (Division 6)
If you are applying for Division 6/Open tier (which is our entry division), you do not have to provide any proof that you are capable of playing at that level.
