The first week of the 18th ETF2L Highlander season is kicking off with all 3 Premiership games happening at the same time. As we breath in the air and smell of fresh mowed grass, looking up into the sky gives us a good presentiment on what is to be expected of the upcoming season.
Introduction to the teams
New stars have risen on our way, namely BANK HEI$T; a fairly heterogenic squad of former high participants, some SDCK players and most importantly Italians. The way into the Premiership division was paved by organisational turbulence, which saw Tourettes Frenchclub crashing down and therefore Faketory Road having a quick start into the leading division of ETF2L, which they weren’t necessarily aiming for looking back at recent events. It would be an astronomic risk though to disregard the potential of upcoming players fueled by pasta-energy under the leadership of veterans.
As we spring jump forward through the tall grass the team Weed Cake Sellers appears. With minor changes it is the same roster that had a few shots in former Pre-Season Playoffs, and therefore wants to make their first appearance in ETF2L prem count. The quite experienced and eager players bring fresh wind into the field and will try to make this very heyday their personal payday. The breaking point is how refined an already existing team synergy is and how much the whetstone of practice is able to sharpen the performance up to par in a six week season.
The third beneficiary of the fluctuation on the top is kiti s bakenbardami. This bearded whale did stir up surprisingly high waves last season, when he plummeted without mercy onto SDCK in week 2. In the total account the Russian pluviophiles still fell a bit short. Though with the usual drowning of some teams and mixing of others it is to be seen what new fauna assembles for aid from the motherland. Interesting matches of aggressive play styles and risky rotations are guaranteed with kiti s bakenbardami fulfilling the quota of Russian teams.
Visually familiar and inherently incomputable to inVision the ever present astral body of STiNGHAN‘s team does shine ever so bright. inVision has been consistent since entering the Premiership division, although the team has seen arguably the biggest switch-up of members in the direct comparison to the other mentioned squads. With a wide variety of stable players the question of how much commitment will be transformed into stellar plays still stands. Is there a will to reach up to the stars or is the deflecting of comets enough for the seasonal flight?
At last, 5 times Premiership winner Strong Opinions and 4 times runners-up Feila eSports finanzieren durch, the two teams to beat, appear on the firmament. Their diverse play styles do match up in an interesting fashion ever so often over the course of the past seasons. But it’s not only an internal (and eternal) clash between the two. Do SO and Feila slowly rise through the thermo sphere and out of reach of the 4 aforementioned teams? There is definitely a certain distance to cover, but scrimming and consistency do go a long way teamed up with plays that sometimes have to be out of this world in order to catch up.
