Season 28: Provisional Tiers
In case you do not find your team in this list, you were likely removed because you had between 1 and 5 players, in this case you have to gather 6 players in your roster and sign up for Season 28 again or you changed your name during signup process, just check for an old team name. We will try and get as many teams into the season as possible before week 1 starts. This is also a reminder that we will leave the signups open until the start of week 3 for late signups. If your team is not on the list or is in a different tier to what you expected please contact the admin team.
Provisional Tiers
These Provisional Tiers are very close to being the final tiers for Season 28. We will only consider making changes to your team’s placement if you can provide strong arguments with supporting screenshots.
If you have not done so already also submit your Preferred days and times for your week 1 fixtures. Teams will be paired on Saturday 23:59, so make sure to do it before.
To submit your availability go to Dashboard > My Teams > Edit Availability. Please also note to submit the time frame in a 24h format, otherwise it will not work (e.g. 20:00 instead of 08:00 p.m.).

Does ETF2L have some kind of statistics how many teams signed up for each season? It seems s28 will have more teams than s27.

Maly. Season 27 had 173 teams with around 16% dropping at some point. We have 177 teams signed up for this season, so a slight increase.
Fun fact: This is the first time that signup numbers have increased two seasons in a row since we have run swiss system leagues.
Is it ok that there are two different Perpetual Motion Squad’s in open?

couldn’t you recreate low with so many signups?
We can but we have no reason to do so. What we always have had in mind is to create a division for every newcomer to the league, for players that heard of competitive TF2 a mere while ago, which was what Fresh tier was supposed to be in the beginning of Season 27. This however did not happen so to not give all completely new players a bad time in Open, we decided to split it into two.
How we would still want to make “Low tier” possible is to make Fresh tier below Open, not anything new above it, but we also would not want to enforce every newcomer to play in Fresh tier if they do not want to or if they have friends in their team that already have former competitive experience that would prevent them from playing under Fresh tier as we would want to make it, if we were to try it out again in the future.
