Highlander Season 7
It’s time for our 7th season of Highlander! After an amazing Season 6 it’s time to dust off the weapons, servers and headsets. We have some changes in store for Season 7 to be announced in upcoming newsposts – today we’ll start off with the weapon banlist and provisional map schedule for the season.

Sign-up process
Make sure to choose your desired division when signing up. If you created a new team or feel you can jump a division, feel free to apply for the division you believe you deserve you should be in. To prove you are capable of the division you applied for, we require you to submit screenshots of results from your recent practice matches or tournaments where you scored decent results against teams that play on the level you aim for. The quantity is not the most important factor in this case, it’s more of a helpful measure for us to figure out if your team will be able to keep up with the pace. There is no magical, minimum or maximum number of screenshots that you have to submit.
Please note that the success of your request also strongly depends on the free slots in the division you aim for. Established teams will be favoured over new teams or teams that request to jump a division. The screenshots have to be uploaded to an online image storage service (for example, you can use imgur or Dropbox). Keep in mind that if you opt for a zipped archives with tons of pictures attached to an e-mail, your application will be ignored. Keep it clean.
If you are applying for Division 6 (which is our entry division), you do not have to provide any proof that you are capable of playing at that level. This only applies to Division 5 or higher.
Because we can only include teams in multiples of eight, signing up really late may not guarantee you a spot in the season. So signing up sooner than later is recommended.
Please send your application to [email protected]. The division assignment request has to include the following information in order to be considered. Incomplete applications will be ignored! Please remember you have to sign up through the site by clicking SIGNUP at the top of this post and selecting the correct team and competition!
- Do not use HTML in your e-mail. If you want to add a link, just paste the link in the e-mail as you would enter it in your browser.

My life is completed again
no fucking way, reservoir?
also, plog :D
why Baby Face’s Blaster is banned? its a best scout weapon
koth_reservoir_b4
what, why?
yes pls gravelpit, but remove barnblitz
i knew you were hinting to remove either gully, lakeside or barnblitz, kkaltuu :>
good to hear that you aren’t banning the base jumper for the time being though
love lakeside though :(
Throw out gravelpit, you can even put cp_orange instead, but for the love of god get rid of that cancer map.
Gravelpit is the mother of all maps.
where’s lakeside?!?
Literally yesterday:
23:25 – TF2C | kKaltUu | ETF2L.org: what map would you rather see? coalplant and arctic are the most mentioned ones
23:26 – Clark: Haven’t tested that new one where all the mixes are played yet (reservoir)
23:26 – TF2C | kKaltUu | ETF2L.org: not gonna happen
:D
1 more new map pls!
highlander!
i just wish there was a couple of weeks between the end of the sixes season and the start of this
rip lakeside
Why cp_process_final :(
What about the Base Jumper glitch?
Why the hell is the Phlog unbanned?
gravelpit – FUCK YEAH
Full retarded ban list. I usually try not to criticize this kind of stuff but sorry allowing a completely broken weapon like the phlog is a big no-no for me. Its not even the weapon attributes and retarded gameplay as much as it is the broken particle effects that lag and really decrease FPSs.
This should have never been allowed.
*censored* with attiude
koth_reservoir_b4…
rip calle
comeback..
The Phlogistinator oh god here comes the M1 Pyros :(
BTW What is koth_reservoir_b4 ?
I think Intermodal was nice. Sad it’s not being played this season !
You really should think about removing process though.
I Agree with Xabi i can’t stand Process
I can imagine the horror of pushing barnblitz last against a lvl 3, an uber and a phlog crit pyro. Oh boy…

Yes i agree with birdy 6s and HL are really close well anyway let’s enjoy the season. Season 7 HYPE!!!!
Anyone who thinks phlog is OP, I question if you have played TF2 before.
Not played vs the Airblast?
Hildreth said it.
or let me rephrase that: I can imagine the horror of pushing barnblitz last against a lvl 3, an uber and an airblast pyro. Oh boy…
I can’t see any prem or div 1 team play with phlogistinator. Airblast has a big role in uber fights and keeping your team alive.
rip koth_lakeside
Get rid of cp_gravelpit, get lakeside back plsssss
I’d rather see Gully being thrown than process if you want to put intermodal tbh
Never played Reservoir, Lakeside was cool tho.
process is fun, why do y’all hate?
hello ladies.
No serious high level pyro is going to use the phlog. It’s one of those things that works if the enemy team has a terrible flank or if you were already winning but it doesn’t win games. Airblast wins games
I’m fine with the phlog since it’s niche at best in a game where airblast is essential. Is the Base Jumper glitch fixed? If not it needs to be banned.
brb teaching Steve how to Phlog pyro
^lol
Phlog makes ambushes stronger, for the trade-off of nullifying the defensive potential of the class.
It’s important to realize this — while you may think that getting 10 seconds of crits for 225 fire damage dealt is extremely powerful (and I agree), this is only if you approach this purely theoretically.
Consider this – a team is fighting uber v uber. BLU decides to push in with a pyro (ubered and with phlog crits). All RED team has to do to deal with this is to have the rest of the classes fall back and let the pyro take the single uber. RED pyro will have an advantage of being able to airblast the phlogged pyro, in addition to any other ubered player pushing.
This leads to an 8-second single pyro uber vs an 8-second single pyro uber with a high potential of having to share uber by the RED medic. Thus, uber v uber airblast will beat phlogistinator pushes.
BLU uber vs RED non-uber is a relatively straight-forward situation. Here, the phlogged pyro will be able to run in and actually utilise the crits (after taunting for 4-5 seconds to activate).
In theory, this will be really effective as red team will have no choice but to try and run away. However, consider this — the RED pyro with an airblast, will be able to at least some extent deny the BLU phlog-pyro. Even with one or two M2s, a window is created that’s big enough for the RED team to scatter and focus on other classes. This will force the BLU medic to share his uber, therefore making it more likely for the uber to fail. So, even in an uber v non-uber situation, the phlog may still well be outplayed in a full-frontal push.
BLU non-uber vs RED uber — consider that RED decides to push out into BLU. They may for example uber in a scout, while a soldier and demoman jump. In this situation the RED pyro has no airblast to stop the jumps/ubered scout, so he’ll essentially become a meat-shield. There is a reasonable chance of him utilising the taunt’s damage reduction to survive and delay the BLU team… However, this does not DIRECTLY protect his medic from being bombed. So in my judgement, an airblast-pyro will be more effective at saving his teammates in this situation than a defensive phlog-pyro.
In case of ambushes (which will really only be viable on 5cp and koth maps, in my honest opinion), the phlog may well give the pyro a good chance of doing better with a phlog than a degreaser. It is important to consider however, that if he elects to ambush the flank, he will be met with a mini-sentry as well as a scout and a soldier, the latter 2 being much more mobile than the pyro. Also, pyro now has no way to reliably avoid the soldier’s damage, making the pyro have much less flank presence, in a way. If the pyro decides to ambush the combo, in an ideal situation he goes in from behind and taunts. Whilst soaking damage with the 75% damage resistance (since a recent patch not interrupted by displacement), his team would go in and the enemy combo should be forced, severely damaged, or killed.
This is a very good result, and, with little consideration, one may then deem the phlogistinator OP. However, the pyro will, in practice, not always be behind the team ready to flank, with the 225-damage charge ready to go. In the meantime, his medic and combo will be more vulnerable to any aggression from the enemy flank.
This is because the airblast is an excellent defensive tool and the pyro is giving it up for the chance of the aforementioned flank. In conjunction with the recent heavy nerf to damage and accuracy when not spun-up, I believe this would be too much defensive capability of the team being given up, overall.
Judgement of the trade-off between a higher ambush potential (1) as well as defensive ability and uber fight handling (2) is left as an exercise to the reader. :)
Regards,
a pyro main.

EDIT: It’s still possible to cancel taunts after being airblasted, so actually the damage resistance from the ambushing paragraph can be denied by an enemy pyro, but then the phlog pyro will get the krits straight away. So yeah kids, don’t airblast taunting phlog pyros. It’s bad for your medic. Unless you can get them far away. Yay.
what is reservoir map?
In my opinion lakeside is a really good map in Highlander and it should be played, although other than steel and gravelpit the maps are great.
damn lakeside is good, why did it get axed ;____;
