InfoShow LAN Party 2014 – April 5th

With the last InfoShow LAN event being an incredible success, they are proud to announce the upcoming InfoShow LAN coming back to you from Telekomunikacijų ir elektronikos fakultetas, KTU – Kaunas. The LAN will span a three day period, beginning on the Friday afternoon of the 4th of April, and ending Sunday evening on the 6th of April. More specifically, the TF2 event will be occurring on the 5th and the 6th of April.
The Infoshow LAN Party is the biggest annual Lithuanian video games event, running for over 12 years. Since the beginning, the festival has drawn players not only from Lithuania, but from Russia, Latvia and Poland. Ever since then, the Infoshow LAN Party grew from a modest students video game party to one of the biggest e-sport events in Lithuania, for both casual and professional players. The last Infoshow LAN Party in 2013 capacitated over 400 gaming enthusiasts, playing in both the competitive scene and also various games over the local network.
Over the years, the LAN event has sported a great deal of different games and played host to some of the greatest gamers in Lithuania. The player audience has originated primarily from Counter-Strike tournaments, beginning with CS: 1.6 and still continuing into CS: Global Offensive. Last year, 20 teams participated in the Counter-Strike tournament. Also during 2013, a fresh game into the event: Dota 2. 8 teams pioneered in the Dota 2 tournament last year; since then, the game has gathered more interest and many more Dota teams are expected to participate.
The latest newcomer to the event is Team Fortress 2, and whilst it is the first TF2 tournament they have organised, InfoShow expect it to be a blast for everyone taking part, with the prospect of it being regular game hosted at the LAN event. A maximum of 16 teams will be able to enter, with entry fees at 15 LTL (5 EUR~) and 24 PC’s for TF2 players. The tournament will be played in a double elimination format (every match-up will be a Best of 3 maps) and the ETF2L Season 17 rules and config will be in place. Prizes will be announced as soon as they are confirmed with the LAN sponsors.
