The Provisional Divisions
The provisional divisions for Highlander Season 6 powered by Tt eSports have been released and can be accessed here:

If you are not happy with the division that your team has been placed in, please contact an admin using the Support Page as soon as possible. Keep in mind that much like during the signup process, you must provide evidence of your ability to perform at the level of the division you wish to enter. This means, at minimum, a screenshot album displaying performance of your team against other similar-skilled teams. These pictures can be taken from PCWs, scrims, cups, other leagues and so on.
Every team with less than 9 players by Monday 3rd March may get replaced. Please make sure you have enough players in your roster by this time.

Beat favourites for div1 in scrim. Get put in div2. What.
well we were using 3mercs and it is a pcw (3rd scrim for us since s05), but i do think you are div1 material.

Potential Highlander Team kinda deserves a div 1 spot, atleast by looking at the roster. But I guess they didn’t have enough screens or the risk of a fold is to high.
Nijo we have screens against Splendid, Breakfast and TC. While they weren’t perfect screens they were enough to show we can compete in that division. TBH enough to show that we could be in the mix to win the division. Throw on top of that teams in div1 applied for div2 then the decision looks utterly insane to me.
Wouldn’t usually vent on a comment like this but it is 15 minutes since I got a response on IRC.

Only 120 teams signed up.
And UGC has 108 active Euro teams atm, heh.
If we don’t count the American teams in ETF2L and assume a few teams will drop then EU UGC will have more teams than ETF2L, i feel uncomfortable realizing this.

XD GG DSQs leader told me they didn’t.provide screenies but they have 1-3 players with D2 exp and the rest D4 2nd place and they get in D2. And the rules say ‘you MUST provide evidence’ ggwp. I guess it’s just the leaders being friends with league admins ^.^

Pretty disappointed when I saw this, to be completely honest.
So much negativity. I think higher divs look pretty good. Only thing I immediately see that strikes me is that Team Nein! is over WASP, when WASP beat them in UGC.
We have screenies beating 4 teams in d1 and we are put in d2, sound logic admins. Not sure if the name of the team threw you off.

I think nein is alright in div1 but there are a lot of teams that deserve the spot aswell. also the season is unpopular becauase of the poor timing, take that to consideration next time

But theres only eight spots to fill the division. Not our fault.
I am not gonna start a shitstorm here. We did not ask to be put into div1, but we got put there anyway so we’ll take the chance. After the season we’ll see how undeserving we are.
Let the results from etf2l speak instead of basing it on ugc matches where we still experiment with our roster. I know that’ll sound like a poor excuse, but that’s all I got for now.

It seems the admins favoured teams that signed up sooner than others rather than proof of skill. Why would it matter what time teams sign up as long as its before the deadline? The decision should not have been made before the deadline, all sign ups should have been taken into account after the deadline at once.
It seems like people are making things up without any actual facts.

Since I no longer admin – Deox, that’s not how it works. I know from experience from the first 120 signups, you will be considered, assuming every roster is full and able to compete (least 9 registered players on the team). If at least 1 isn’t, if no other teams sign up, 7 teams will be put on the waiting list until they are, I am not sure if this is the case or whatever but THAT is the only instance admins would base who can play unless you sign up after the deadline then you’re automatically on the waiting list to replace dropped teams.
ADMINS do not favour teams who sign up sooner in terms of skill level, as long as you sign up within the deadline or if you are one of the last few to sign up and therefore not enough teams are remaining to make it a multiple of 8.
The division placements are generally defined by your ETF2L RESULTS – If a team like Team Nein lost to WASP in UGC, don’t mean shit to ETF2L, we like to think teams earn their spot through previous results in previous seasons, hence why Team Nein are in Div 1 and Wasp aren’t, Team Nein won their division, WASP came 3rd.
Yes there will be inconsistencies, the point of the Prov divs is to find them and establish them, I imagine everything brought up will be discussed again…Since I don’t really know any teams below top Div 1 level, I can’t comment.
There were only 3 spots in div1 up for grabs, all of which were taken by established teams with a prior history. Unless someone else had results significantly better than those teams then it’s unsurprising that a newly formed team doesn’t get put in ahead of them.
More importantly, fuck Hildreth for stealing piddox, causing SDW to fold and making me play against Americans. A warning to all, and a chilling pattern is emerging after he butchered Colony last season.
Sorry for coming out that way, I only came to the assumption that is what happens since I spoke to some admins who stressed that we signed up sooner than later to help chances for divs applied. Don’t know why i would be told that if it didn’t matter. I only say this here because I was hoping to have someone correct me and make things clear which you did, so thanks. I wont bug admins again.
Potential Highlander Team look very strong for current div2. Also lets hope ‘murcans don’t fold like they always do.
After a long talk with Munky and some discussion with some of the other leaders of div 1/2 teams, I can only come to the conclusion that the admins are…. trying to think of a polite way to put this…. making absolutely retarded choices?
Like please, I use to do some of the provisional divisions when I was an ETF2L admin. Munky was told that he signed up later (but BEFORE the deadline) and this put him at a disadvantage. What a load of old crap. As long as you sign up before the deadline, you should be considered equal to everyone else who signed up. The ONLY exception to this should be if there is not enough teams for another division, in which case they take their place on the waiting list, but that should not effect the DIVISION they signed up for, only whether or not they have a spot in the league.
I’m not sure what more I expected from ETF2L atm though, lets face it our head admins are currently perm who backs some really ridiculous points and emb who doesn’t even play TF2 anymore, bravo.
Lastly I heard you lacked highlander admins. Well, I re-applied ages ago for HL admin and you didn’t even bother to warrant me a response, so thanks for that.
DSQ signs up on the day the apps were out with no screenies – they get their requested div (unless they sent them after they applied which don’t think they did.)
No Future signs up two or three days before sign ups close with 5 screenies – they get the div below they requested.
How can you just go out and say that we didn’t provide screenies? I provided 4 screenies and I’ll gladly link you them.

Go Bananas look Div 1 capable, Sad Panda, M4rk, Skyride’s brother Deox….lot of strong players in that roster. If they got good screens definitely worth reconsidering imo.
As hilarious as it is hearing Go Bananas rage about their placement in mumble, they definitely deserve a spot in div 1 more than some teams that are in there. Move ’em up boys!

Go bananas I think should be considered but the 3 screens aren’t amazing seeing as breakfast is recently reformed iirc so not as they once were. I know they beat spld on via pro but then you need to take into account the scout merc with a broken mouse the sniper merc with horribad fps and the merc medic who’s been playing heavy for the recent past, Calling into question the validity of this screen. Then there’s the one vs TC which idk the full story apart from the fact they’re trying to sort out a heavy.
No doubting the skill present on their team but it seems screenshot choice is the factor here. I’m assuming that posting the exact same screenshots on this thread won’t prove any point either
But hey. New team first season is div 2 there’s no issue with just winning the season as they expect to and moving on with the experience

But yeah looking at all the posts on here it just seems like something that should be taken up with admins directly instead of whining on here. It’s just seeming to be a bit immature to suggest the admins favour people sign up earlier because I applied for d1 on like the 25th ish and got it. It’s their league and it’s a difficult job placing all of these teams in divisions based on the applications and past etf2l experience.

um you do see that we were using 2mercs and 1 sub and that viaduct=/=lakeside, and this was our 2nd pcw day since S05. If PCW’s and screens would matter that much we had a 4-1 win against KS on gully last season, why are we not in PREM? :P

@Toba Team Nein and Chimpanzees were both knocked up into div 1 without asking for div 1. A strong team was pushed down into div 2 against their wishes while two teams were pushed up.
Not having a go at either of these team as they are both great guys and us being moved down a div has nothing to do with them. I just can’t comprehend how that could happen. It isn’t a case of there not being enough space and its why people on our team have been so angry about it honestly.
Will try to leave things now and hope they work themselves out.

As I wrote somewhere else the majority of our team is from Osmoz and we ended 3rd in Div 2 last season without really practicing. We were also on a fight to win Div 2 with Dig Deep and Breakfast. As Dig Deep is not playing this season I think we have every rights to be put into Div 1.
You’re calling yourself a strong team but you don’t even a full roster yet, you have some great players tho.
