Rule Update
Using scripts to perform actions you would not be able to perform without scripts, or using scripts to disrupt the player hitbox/model is no longer allowed and may be classified as cheating.
The complete rule reads as follows:
6.3 Scripts
Scripts that allow a player to perform an action in-game that he would not be able to execute without the script, or scripts that purposefully disrupt the player hitbox are banned and may be classified as cheating. Scripts that freeze or glitch the player model (e.g. in mid-air to be less predictable) to make it harder to hit are also banned.Examples of banned scripts:
- Chargeturn script (this includes the use of other peripherals to achieve sharper turn angles)
Examples of allowed scripts:
- Duck jump script
- Null-cancelling movement script
- Rocket jump script
- Mask uber script
- Team say scripts
If you are unsure about the legality of a particular script, please contact an admin to clarify the situation before using the script in an official match.
If you are unsure whether a particular script is allowed, please contact an admin using IRC or the Support Page before using the script in an official match.
Bans
The following players have been found to be guilty of cheating by our AC staff and are now banned from all ETF2L competitions for one year:
Rdios – Cheating in pickups with alt accounts
Random – Cheating in pickups with alt accounts, again (+1 year)
GiGiBiBi – Alt of Random
Kayziix – Aimbot
Sugary – Alt of izq
Additionally, some players have been spotted with recent VAC bans affecting Team Fortress 2 and are also banned for one year:

on a more serious note: how do you want to detect if someone uses a not allowed script?
The sentryjump with picking up the Sentry is pretty hard to do without scripts, but possible.
Why would the wrangler script be banned tho?
I would argue that its main purpose would be the same as the rocketjump script or the null cancelling movement script, which is stuff that is possibly to do with enough practice but the script just makes your life easier.
I dont use any script, just wondering why would the wrangler script be considered different?

You can wrangler jump legally with 2 scripts and good timing. It would look exactly the same.

Controllers can turn without scripts, are they allowed? Are you allowed to use both controller and a mouse when it best suits you? Or is it only banned when achieved with a ‘script’ (what is a script)?
What you’re saying is: we ban the usage of bugs and exploits (regardless if they’re performed with or without ‘scripts’ (no need to define scripts as it’ll be banned anyway)).
Disrupting your hitbox on purpose by using a glitch is an exploit. Doesn’t matter how you achieve it.
Turning faster than Valve allows is a glitch, regardless of how you achieve it (your version only bans ‘scripts’, my version of that rule would also ban high sensitivities to achieve the same effect).
Freezing yourself is just the executing of a command everyone uses to fix invisible player models, or fixing incorrect huds, or fixing sound problems. Is that a script if it’s bound to a key? What if you type the commands manually? My definition of just saying ‘do not exploit the game’ would cover all that without ambiguity.
Please stop throwing around the word ‘script’ as if it’s guilty in certain cases. Scripts are never the problem. Bugs/exploits in the game are.

@quintosh: ok I missed the part of the turning (so you heard it: etf2l bans controller usage for charging targe demomen!) the point I was making is that the word ‘script’ is completely unnecessary here. Not only is it unnecessary but it contributes to the simple-minded people with an aversion to any scripts at all.
You could simply and make your rules less ambiguous (and less condescending towards scripting in general) by simply stating (note the lack of the word ‘script’ in the rule definition):
Bugs/exploits are banned, a non exhaustive list of what we consider bugs/exploits:
1. Turning faster than an average mouse with average sensitivity (this includes controllers) with the Demoman’s charging targe.
2. Freezing yourself on purpose at strategic moments (eg, using hud_reloadscheme as a soldier while rocketjumping to make it more difficult for the enemy to hit you).
3. Disrupting your character’s hitbox on purpose to make it hard for you to get hit. (this includes ‘lag switches’, ‘rapidely spamming left/right movement’, spamming duck while in the air, using taunt sliding)
These examples are explicitly allowed:
1. Duck jump scripts
2. Null cancelling movement scripts
3. Rocket jump scripts
4. Preventing your medic from yelling out loud that he has an ubercharge (aka uber masking).
5. Saying things in chat
This list is non-conclusive, if you are unsure whether a particular script is allowed, please contact an admin using IRC or the Support Page before using the script in an official match.
So yes, I want you to update your rules about bugs/exploits to be more streamlined and less condescending towards scripting.

this izq guy made tons of frag clips and in this one after the demo headshot and after missing the medic , @ 0:48 you can see his crosshair just switch to another target in a fraction of second.

@OCTANE: This was just put in there because a long time ago you could spam duck and fuck up your hitboxes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0nov19PJRY This was fixed ages ago (with a ‘duck timer’, you can only duck like 1 or 2 times in the air nowadays). It’s just an example anyway.
Also it’s kinda obvious duck jumping would not be banned. That’s why it’s in the list of explicit exceptions (for the sake of clarity) because people like to bring them up.
Onv it looks like you aren’t smart too, look at hud timer…

Pretty sure you can still glitch the hitbox by ‘spamming’ crouch mid-air, you can’t tell people not to do it manually of course because that would be fucking stupid, I wish valve would actually fix it though and make it so that just your legs move when you crouch mid-air.
You are limited to two ducks per jump anyway so it’s not that big of a deal. Also just ban the charging targe because apparently anyone who uses a controller or high sensitivity gets banned from etf2l for using it anyway

It’s really hard to track peoples heads that do that as sniper and also hard to hit scouts that do it, the fact that there are only 2 crouches per jump makes it less of a ‘big deal’ but it’s still really stupid.
