Highlander Season 4 Grand Final
The time has come for this season to reach its conclusion. The teams facing each other have gone through 5 grueling weeks of play, coming out on top. One of them had to topple Parrot Gapers on their way to the final, whilst the other has had to wait for a while on their throne for somebody to come knocking on their door. At long last, tonight we shall crown the champion of Season 4.
SNSD went through the season unbeaten, which has become almost of a tradition in ETF2L highlander. Their only only real challenge on week 3 from the previously mentioned Parrot Gapers, very narrowly clutching a win from the jaws of defeat on Gullywash and Lakeside. Tonight’s opposition they faced on Gravel Pit, by name a week 1 match, but actually played late in the catch-up week. That night they provided us with a very solid performance, dispatching their opponents convincingly and taking home the full 6 points to finish the season with 30 points out of 30. Tonight they will have their hands (or maybe screens) full of vengeful Frenchmen
DAROUTOUTOU had a very impressive debut season in Prem, which many people expected. In the first round of the playoffs last week they faced Parrot Gapers, who they had previously beaten convincingly on Barnblitz in week 5. In that second encounter they faltered a little losing the first map, which was Upward, but then picking up Badwater and Gullywash to seal the deserved win. Tonight the black horses of this season have their biggest challenge ahead. Can they claim their biggest scalp yet, or shall SNSD leave yet another challenger licking his wounds?
The duel to watch for tonight is the one between TviQ and Flippy. These two head-clickers will be racing to inflict the most head-aches, with unmatched ability to make the other team dread open spaces. Two more people capable of singlehandedly making big influences to the game are the suit-wearing French gentlemen for both teams (also known by some as spies), going by the names of Hurri and Daff. Even if the two won’t be directly dueling each other they’ll be as much of a nuisance behind the lines as they can. These four players have proven they can make or break any push and completely turn things around. Keep your eyes peeled for clutch plays!
The game tonight is a payload extravaganza, with pl_badwater and pl_upward as the main course and pl_barnblitz_pro as the possible dessert. Both teams had crushing victories on these maps in Season 4, so this match may be a close one!
A massive part in SNSD‘s success over the recent years, Alx, will be retiring after this game so we should all give a round of applause for the Swedish heavy-superstar.
