Experimental Cup #4: Cup Day
The Wrangler-less Highlander Cup takes place tonight!
Signups will close at 18:30 CET, and brackets will be published here before 19:30 CET. There will be 6 brackets with 8 teams each.

Make sure your bodies are ready – if you can no longer participate in the Cup, please contact admins to remove your team as soon as possible. Contact your opponents as soon as the brackets are available – if your opponents cannot play, they may be replaced with a team from the waiting list.
As a reminder, here is the schedule for tonight:
- 19:30 CET – Brackets posted
- 20:00 CET – Ro8 – pl_upward
- 20:40 CET – Ro4 – pl_badwater
- 21:20 CET – Finals – pl_barnblitz_pro

I think the games ended up being faster paced because of the no-wrangler rule.
Was a really fun night tbh, wouldn’t mind a second one of these some time soon.
Not sure about the official removal of the wrangler however, as it’s such a key weapon in the highlander meta atm.
Personally I wouldn’t be sad to see it go.

It was interesting thinking about new sentry spots which are vulnerable to enemies far away now. It definitely does speed things up a bit. I don’t know whether that’s good or bad, but sentries don’t feel at all OP now whereas they did (only slightly) with wrangler. Interesting experiment.
I really enjoyed it. I gotta check back with our engie how she found it but we had a good run by playing more with our engie. Jump in the way of spam, actively deny area around the sentry, bodyblock ubers, all that stuff. We had amazing team moments and a TON of fun that night
