The road to the final for Parrot Gapers was the toughest it could have been. First, they had to come from a map down to beat Legolas’ Wrath in a tiebreaker bo3 to decide who played in the Premiership Playoffs. Next up was May Contain Nuts in the Semi-Final, who placed above Parrot Gapers in the regular season. However once again, Parrot Gapers lost the first map in the best of 3, but they picked themselves up and the next two maps went to them, winning them a place in the Grand Final!
Everyone expected it, butSNSD proved again why they are the team to beat in Europe currently. The regular season held no problems forSNSD, albeit dropping points to May Contain Nuts for the first time since the final of the Highlander Community Challenge in March 2011! After the the final day of the regular season,SNSD have not been spending their time idly. They have been practicing a lot and most will think of them as the overwhelming favorites to win this match.

On the line tonight are of course not only bragging rights but also a huge €1,665 is at stake as well as shiny ingame medals (to be delivered when they are ready). The winner goes home with €1,035 while the loser has to be content with “only” €630. With this kind of money at stake, you can be sure both teams will want the win!
Permzilla had a chat with Linus fromSNSD about tonight’s match:
P: How are you personally feeling ahead of the big game tonight?
L: We’ve been practicing for a while now, this final is obviously important to us. We don’t want to let the highlander community down who have been rooting for a ‘classic’ highlander team to take the gold trophy… Parrot Gapers have come a long way, they are extremely talented and certainly not worth underestimating, it’s going to be a close one for sure!
P: Who’s going to cause problems for you tomorrow?
L: We have already played the Gapers once, and judging from that, Spary and Kiler4fun seem to be the main source of damage and frags for them, and are certain to cause a massive headache. Any round we lose will be down to our own failing as a team rather than exceptional play from our opponents.
P: Parrot Gapers picked cp_granary as their map, a very deathmatch orientated map. How are you going to counter their strong dm?
L: We aren’t afraid to deathmatch them – the individual skill in both teams is quite high and I don’t think either team has a clear advantage here. I trust we have more experienced (and better) support classes though, which can provide the edge in highlander.
P: Any messages for Parrot Gapers?
TviQ : WE GONNA FUQ THEM UP BIG TIEMS
Next up, a few words with Parrot Gapers’ sniper, Gubbins:
P: How are you personally feeling ahead of the big game tonight?
G: Confident.
P: Who’s going to cause problems for you tomorrow?
G: No one.
P: You picked cp_granary as your map choice, what made you pick it? Any secret tactics?!
G: We have the best huntsmen sniper in Europe and I feel that Kaidus in particular will crumble on this map. Though in truth we just hate Steel.
P: Any messages for SNSD?
G: Gapers gonna gape.
The action will be brought to you by VanillaTV at 21.15 CEST, featuring Heavy is GPS and Skully on the mics; see you there!

I hate to nitpick, but it’s not the first time SNSD has lost a map. Has happened a few times after HCC. In official games, not pcws, I mean.
I didn’t really count the Experimental Cup, but what you’re saying is true I guess.
They also lost one map to Angry German Kids in CommFT cup, if we want to be exact.
