Season 7 Starts Now, 5th Cup Continues, 2 New Cheaters, ASRock Challenge Cup

Date February 8, 2010

Ready, set, go!

Season 7 starts today and will see 350 teams do battle across 6 divisions and 35 groups. The divisions have been painstakingly crafted by the admin team and are ready for you to peruse. Make sure to get in contact with the other teams in your group as soon as possible so the scheduling process goes smoothly. Check out the league-wide Week 1 fixtures.

There have been a lot of new teams added from the waiting list, so be sure to check out if you are in the tables. If you are still on the waiting list, don’t worry, there will surely be room to replace more dropping teams. Being active and easily reachable helps your chances a lot.

We’d also like to take this chance to remind teams to use the relevant match pages to record scheduling/merc/unlocks notes and agreements. Doing so will help the admin team resolve any disputes. Make sure that your team has read and understood the rules, especially if this is your first season. They have been updated with new rules regarding hijacking teams, wildcards and unlocks. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse.

We wish you and your team the very best of luck.

bloodybrilliant work screwing up the pre-released map fixtures.

Please dont be assholes next time and release the relevant informations a bit earlier.

I wish all teams gl in this season.

Indeed, that could’ve been handled a lot better.

No maps were confirmed earlier in the season. A provisional list of fixed maps was given to suggest how the format would work. No post after this confirmed any list of maps to be definite and correct. So I think you’ll find we didn’t “screw up” anything :)

Please watch your language in the comments on news posts.

D2M, it was misinformation on the admin side. It should be noted so it can be done better next time.

Pretty much every team did alot of training for the map schedule you released first.

And even if you say “provisional” If you do alter it you should simply notify the people.

Sticking the schedule in the news post pretty much covers the notification angle don’t you think?

Why does the majority of the map list follow f2’s suggestion but then granary is stuck in random places?

We considered Granary, Badlands and Gravel to be maps that’d fit anywhere since everyone’s played them more than 2000 times. To that end, we used them to fill gaps where they needed to be rather than have a week that pairs the slower or new maps together where possible. Or to set up an exciting final week. So there’s nothing “random” about Granary’s placement.

We also thought it’d be dull if teams were pcwing Turbine and/or Freight for 2 ETF2L weeks (4 real time weeks) in a row on top of the trio of “new” maps.

Curious as to why the 5th cup doesn’t follow the tree?

The season lasts 10 weeks if you count this week as the first. There will be a few extra weeks at the end for playoffs. I think you’re getting confused, the week to play one week’s fixture overlaps with the week you get to arrange the next week’s fixture, as it has done all previous seasons.

  20. Galant: candy - Autism said:

Yep, I got confused… ;-) It’s all like in all previous seasons.
