Hey there,

I'm Spur SGJ, your typical English-speaking TF2 pubber with some free time on their hands, looking to get in some competitive TF2 and learn a bit more about the game. Seeing as it's the Summer holidays, I'm more than likely available at 14:00-24:00 (UTC +1) and I can be highly flexible in regards to these times. During a regular time period, it'll probably be more like 16:00-22:00 and there will be days in which I'll be unavailable due to coursework and preparation for assessments.

I currently have a fully working gaming mic and fibre optic internet that rarely has any major problems. Whilst I have Mumble installed, I seldom use it, generally utilising either Skype, Google Plus or Steam Chat, however this is due to the fact that most of my friends have a preference for those three clients over Mumble.

In regards to my TF2 career, as of the 03/08/13, I have a total playing time of 1022 hours and a few games in TF2lobby to get a feel for Highlander (unfortunately, TF2lobby was down at this time), although having played TF2lobby I believe there is a lot that I have to learn and I'm willing to dedicate my time to be a substitute. I have no league experience as of note. In pubs, I tend to be flexible in regards to the classes I play, but for Highlander, I'd recommend myself for Pyro or Soldier, and based on recent playing experience, Engineer, Heavy or Medic. However, I'm probably more skilled at the former two.

The sort of team I'm looking for is a low-division team that requires or wishes to maintain a substitute/target practice. Friendliness and a jolly good attitude would be a nice bonus. I'm a pretty open guy and I get along fine with most people, provided that you're not a complete arsehole. Seeing as I'm fairly experienced and highly skilled at TF2 in regards to pubs and I have a decent knowledge of how the non-competitive game works, so I feel that it's time for a shift to the competitive scene. It would be good to play with a team that knows what they're doing, rather than hopping into a game hoping that you'll find a team that doesn't have 2 Snipers, 3 Spies, 5 Pyros, 6 Scouts etc.

As I've said, I have a preference for playing Soldier or Pyro, as I consider them to be my best classes. In Heavy 1v1s in pubs, I tend to win and I'm generally a good Heavy, but I don't consider myself skilled enough. It's the same with playing Medic, I'm sure to time my ubers well and pocket the right person for the right situation (i.e. pocket the Demoman if there's an Engie nest, Heavy for a standard payload push, Pyro to counter ubers). However, I don't think my skill is good enough for competitive. I've also listed Engineer, but my situational awareness in regards to usage of the Gunslinger and the Wrangler isn't one I'd consider adequate.

In regards to Soldier, I'm more of a roaming Soldier, preferring to use the Rocket Launcher with Gunboats, instead of the Shotgun or the Buff Banner. I know the standard stuff, like bombing runs on Medics and rocket jumps, which I tend to apply to pubs. In regards to Pyro, I'm a Shotgun person myself, occasionally switching to the Reserve Shooter. To be honest, I find that the Shotgun is more reliable and gets the job done just as well as the Flare Gun if not better. Of course, I also use the standard Degreaser and Axtinguisher. I tend to be more of a support Pyro, staying with the main push, airblasting rockets and finding the Spy, but in situation that necessitates it, I do go roaming.
