I was playing without model for both primary and secondary weapon.

If you are not using the model for your medigun, viewmodel_fov still matters for the position of your healing beam. I had viewmodel_fov 110. It placed the healing beam not too close and not too far for me.

Not sure if you are trolling. But I am using voice activation both in mumble and TS. It really helps online as well.
