oh sick the interp myths

i use lerp 22.4 is that bad??

that explains why are you so shit, just put it on 0.56932 and you’ll be the best scout in the world!
for real using cl_interp is retarded, just put values above 1 on cl_interp_ratio if you have connection/uploading issues, no need to argue over it.

Wait a minute…
You want to get better, you know that practice is the only way, and yet you come here asking for help. Am i missing something here?

Some kind of setting adjustments, maybe a word from the higher level players or anything like that. Practice is what I’m doing but I’m looking for something that will help out with the practice making it easier or anything like that. Just tips.
Something like hr said:

I feel like dm is good to learn movement patterns but for warmup I like tr_walkway and doing the thing where you track bots as they go on the launchpad.
Watch some demos see where scouts position themselves and what they do in certain situations but most of all just play scrims.

P.S: Thanks for all the replies so far

Spend less time asking about how to play the game and more time playing the game. This is genuine advice, as far too many people say they “just want tips” but they’d do way better if they just played the game. Sorry if this is a bump.

I noticed that I can beat much better scouts in MGE by running straight into them and out-reacting them. Test your reaction time here: http://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime and look at the results in this thread http://etf2l.org/forum/general/topic-28560/page-7/ – if you’re faster than average you can take closer fights.

Lol, no.

running into a scouts face in a 6s game is usually not a good idea. good players shouldn’t play alone.

It’s a good idea if you have better reactions but worse aim.

not really, if you just keep running in they are going to expect it and you are going to get outreacted and outaimed.

Yeah, I said to keep doing it until it gets predictable.

so like, 1-2 kills?

AB

that’s still a really small sample size to go by fraac. and besides mge 1v1s almost never translate completely to actual games.
