I got a Roccat Kave and it’s…ermmm…shit tbh.

Sound is bad, mic is OK, equaliser doesn’t work and it can actual hurt after a while of wearing.

Thinking I may want a proper headset and one of those stick on mic thingies next.

STAY OUTTA THE KAVE!

Refreshing old thread.

Im thinking of buying a new headset (or mic+headphones combo etc, you get it.)

I was thinking of buying the Plasticseries siberia v2 until I found out that they often break after a year’s use. Now I’m reconsidering. I’m not getting a zalman, and probably not a modmic either. I would buy siberias if they would be more durable ( I’m not an audiophile, they have an decentish mic, ok sounds, thats it, all I need).

I was suggested to get these:
http://www.thomann.de/gb/samson_go_mic.htm Samson Go mic
http://www.thomann.de/gb/superlux_hd_681_evo_wh.htm superlux hd 681 EVO

They seem great, but I’d rather get a headset. I asked my teammate on mumble on what headset is he using, and he told me he’s using creative fatal1tys. I think they are generally not too liked, but pretty popular, like the siberias. The mic in it was decent, so Im thinking of it also. I have a maximum of 80 euros budget, and I’d like to hear suggestions, and opinions about those linked items, siberia v2, and fatal1ty.

Don’t let atmo see this

edit: ill be useful too i guess. I have a tt esports shock, and i just bought another one to replace the one that was falling apart a bit. People say they’re shit but it lasted me 2 years until the felt around the ears ripped a bit and there was a mysterious rattling inside one of the ears, and I find them comfy…I can wear them all day with no discomfort. A lot of people will disagree and say they’re awful but meh, I’ll keep buying them until Tt don’t make them anymore.

edit2: and they’re cheap.

If you go for a headphone+mic combo you will almost always end up with inferior quality on both your mic and your headphones than if you would buy Headphones+a seperate microphone.

Personally, I’d recommend a cheap desktop microphone off dealextreme or something
http://dx.com/s/desktop%2bmicrophone?PageIndex=1 and spending the rest of your money on some really nice headphones.

Take a look here for some options regarding to headphones

The superlux headphones might protect me even if atmo sees this. Anyways, I’ll take a look at the tt esports schock.

fatal1ty is probably the worst you can get. I recommended the Superlux headphones to 3 people already, no complaints so far.

rockie

Sennheiser PC 350 SE or 363D good headphones with an excellent mic (i got 350 SE) don’t need to buy headphones and that expensive mic from antlion, just get one of these and you won’t regret, i suggest to buy a sound card with a built-in amp or just get a good amp, this only if you buy 350 SE coz they have 150ohm of impedance, otherwise you won’t need an amp with 363D (they only have 50ohm of impedance)
