Tried searching, couldn’t find anything – maybe I’m retarded. But w/e

I know very little about monitors. I’ve been told for gaming I want something that has 2ms response time and 120hz refresh rate. Anyway, searched on scan and ocuk etc for a monitor matching those specs, and they all cost like £250+ and had 3D, which I do not want. Would be much appreciated if someone could find a decent one for me.

Looking for 1080p and 24″ if possible as well
Edit – can spend roughly £200 max. Can go a bit over, would prefer not to though

maybe wrong, but think all monitors that are 120hz are sold as “3D” or “3D ready”.
That does’t mean they are native 3D, as u need specs n stuff for that.
Just means that you could if u wanted!

Yeah, you need 120 Hz for 3D but you also have to pay like €100 for the nvidia 3D glasses kit thing. Some of the expensive monitors come with the kit included, cheaper ones don’t.

Protip, if you are going to ask a forum/anyone for help getting a monitor, dont not mention a budget but complain about some random price.

Considering you want a 120hz 24″ monitor, and gaming specs, you are probavbly going to need to shell out £250+ anyway.

My bad, edited post. I was just hoping someone would know of a cheaper model that is still fairly good quality.

Most Samsung Syncmasters are decent and good priced, i used to have a syncmaster t220 which was 2ms and should be available at a decent price now.

So I can run without using 3D shit and it’s essentially a ‘normal’ monitor?

120 Hz just means it has the capability to do two sets of 60 Hz and give you a nice headache as the visual cortex of your brain fizzles and pops with heated confusion.

So yeah, it’s a normal monitor unless you tell it to TRANSFORM!!!

a) Viewsonic vx2268wm 16:10 1680×1050 (22″ 120hz)
b) LG w2363d 16:9 1920×1080 (23″ 120hz)

Those above 2 are the only two 120hz monitors worth buying when strictly for competitive gaming, the rest all have flaws in performance.

To get 24″ and 1920×1080 your only real option is to wait and see what the performance of the BenQ xl2420t will be like, if they’ve fixed the overdrive issue from the previous version (xl2410t) via better panel and/or technology in their overclocking pixel response… that one will be the best on the market… however i doubt it… and if they did it will probably be out of your price range at 300gbp anyway.

NAILED IT LADS.

That LG is discontinued. I believe this is the new version:

Only issue is 5ms :X. Not sure if that’s such a big problem though?

Samsung 23SA700, me like.

23″ 1080p.

Curious to hear about its defects nvc :) (my only real gripe with it is backlight bleeding at the bottom, but hell its a cheap screen anyway).

That’s a passive 3d monitor -> 60hz.

From a few of these comments it sounds like I might not want 120hz after all :p
