My basic question is how hard is it?
This would be my first time building one and as I need it made in time for LAN (I left it late, sue me), I was thinking of doing it myself, before asking around for help.
Are there any good online guides? Or should I even attempt it at all?
If needed can post components.
I built one, that’s how easy it is.
Building a computer is literally like lego. You won’t have any problems, you shouldn’t need help.
the only thing i could think that is hard is getting components that are compatible, other than that, it’s like LEGO.

i5 760
MSI P67A-GD53
4GB 1,600MHz DDR3
GTX 560 Ti 1GB
Gelid Tranquillo
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W
Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus
Then just a disk drive and 1 TB hard drive.
That’s all ok, I hope. I heard the HAF was a smaller case, is that a problem?

the only thing that requires thinking is sticking all the cables from the case to the mobo really and even that is explained to such a detail in the manual that even a 9 year old retarded hobo with braces could it…
Don’t forget a power supply.
Also be careful with small cases, graphics cards tend to be huge these days. Find dimension specs of both and make sure it’ll fit ^^

the processer you have chosen fits the lga1156 socket. The motherboard uses the p67 chipset, which has a socket of lga1155 type. You will want a i3/i5/i7-XXXX type processer to go with a p67 motherboard, OR a p/h/x-5X type chipset to go with that i5-760.

you will not be able to put your processor into motherboard socket
edit: easy way how to do it
find cpu and gpu that you want and google something like best mb for X cpu and later best mb for X gpu and find maches. All the rest uses same sockets, but beware to buy not too cheap psu as you may be out of wires and power.

yes I believe so, though I wouldn’t quite put it that way. You can always return the processer and purchase a new one.
