tf2 crashes and warps

Two things:
1) As I know, lots of teams have been having issues with servers recently, with the timeout message for a couple of seconds. this ceased to trouble people after the first time but apparently it started again yesterday after a some weeks break. However, the issue im getting to is not that, it’s this: Yesterday, our entire team started to have unplayable warps, while the enemy team was perfectly fine as they told us. The same thing happened on 2 servers we tried, and on any practice/public servers we played on before the game. Apparently other people we know had this issue although not as much as in our case :d
today, the same thing happened to me and Matt (and for a minute Vanilla, mercing for us, too. and our medic, but not as much as me and matt) – unplayable warps. doesnt seem to be a lag issue as yesterday our pings were fine and today only matt was constantly pinging 160 (unrelated I guess). is not a server issue as this happened on other servers too
so tl;dr, how do we fix this if it doesnt affect our opponents but only us (not just a single or two people) and isnt a server issue

edit:
forgot 2 xD
2) some of our team also got Run Time errors which crashed along the lines of ‘this application (tf2) tried to run an unusual process so runtime had to close it etc.’ with microsoft c+++ in the title etc. so askin if other people got the run time error issue too

For the C++ runtime error, try to delete PREC (addons folder).

Worked for me and 2 other team mates

LTG.

I have thiz prob too :(

I’ll try to removing P-REC…

Edit: Not getting crashes by C++ anymore :P Still my game sounds “warps” and cuts + fps is unstable when this happens.

I’ve also gotten weird lag spikes after the “retarded update”, with fps dropping down to an awful 20 and ping spiking to 600 every 2 minutes or so, which never used to happen before this. I was playing a pcw just now, and it was just totally unplayable with the fps dips and lag spikes coming in. Does anyone know a solution to this? It never happened before the update, only after it.

Bonkers

Perhaps try limiting the bandwidth that mumble can use?

I had some weird freezes as well, two seconds disconnect and then suddenly the entire enemy team is behind me :D

Have those runtime errors as well, will remove P-REC until further notice :(

There is a synchronous call to Steam to locate the error reporting server. The error reporting server went AWOL so the call to Steam got blocked. We are looking into how we can avoid this in future. This call may not even be necessary any more since we have moved to breakpad for crash reporting.

Probably fixed soonish.
