Which 20-22″ monitor would you guys advise for gaming?

No TN-panel displays please.

Rev

LG FLATRON L227WT

Edit: Oh sorry I think it’s an TN-Panel monitor, but I’m not sure. :/

Without typenumbers your information is useless. And are you sure it isn’t a TN panel?

In general the TN panels are best for gaming because of the good response times and less input lag.

I was about to post the anandtech thread but mari4ek already did, have a look at it.

Good monitors are :
22″: Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ
22″: LG Flatron L227WTG-PF

Also have a look here http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=1622535

I just can’t live with the shit color production and viewing angles of TN panels, so those are really out of the question. See :

Not calibrated: http://www.digitalversus.com/duels.php?ty=6&ma1=88&ma2=35&mo2=349&p2=3278&ph=5

Grays (or more like greens for the LG): http://www.digitalversus.com/duels.php?ty=6&ma1=88&ma2=35&mo2=349&p2=3278&ph=5

Think I’ll be going for the Dell 2209WA, it’s the only option I think.

TN. I’m looking at one now (at my dad’s) and it’s utter shit. I want a screen that is comparable with my current one (NEC Multisync 20WGX2: http://www.digitalversus.com/duels.php?ty=6&ma1=88&mo1=477&p1=4862&ma2=52&mo2=95&p2=969&ph=5). The NEC will prob still be better though.

But I’m in no hurry (unless my current screen breaks down).

Your spoiled by IPS panels :)

Thats NEC seems nice choice indeed. Best of both worlds

More pricey tho.

I have that NEC atm. For about 3 years now? It’s such an amazing screen, still blows away about 95% of all the displays on the market. But it’s showing problems, looks like there is water underneath the screen. There is also a little black spec underneath the coating (maybe a bug, or just dust). Also having problems with getting a dvi signal the past few days. I’ll keep using it till it dies, because it’s just awesome, but I’ve gotta have a backup plan ready :D. But I’m shit scared about Dell QC. Might have to blow some money on a NEC again :X
