If you are doing simple edits, Sony Vegas is all you need.

I usually follow huhy’s guide.
If you don’t want to pirate anything or spend much money: I bought Sony Vegas 11 Platinum Suite for like 30€ about 2 years ago on Amazon and I still love it. It also has some awesome features (which I never use lol). Of course it doesn’t has all the features the “real” Sony Vegas has.
But if you do simple edits I really recommend it.
render? mostly youtube, sometimes mpc
