Looking to buy the above, give me your suggestions!
Have had DeathAdder for a few years but have broken the side buttons, might buy a new one but am open to other options.
Have been using £2 clip mic from Amazon, would like something with a little better quality.
Need a netbook or dirt cheap laptop to take to LAN for coverage, really just something that can run notepad++, open office and gimp.
how quick do you need netbook?
may well be worth waiting for the new AMD’s Brazos netbooks to arrive
mouse – whatever you are use too
headset – no real opinion (always liked creative headsets, but that is personal preference
I’d buy a seperate mic and headphones. Build & sound quality for gamer headsets is usually pretty dire.
you can have my netbook if you like, don’t use it that much and have been meaning to upgrade. acer aspire one ZG5, currently got debian on but win xp or whatever can easy be installed and runs well (or i can do that for you). lightly used over the last year or so, in good condition, all hardware checked by yours truly and runs great (atom processors ain’t bad for that sort of shit mang)
Yeah I don’t use or want a headset.
Just a better mic!
I have a Samsung N130 I picked up from Argos’ Ebay Outlet for about £150, has a dual core atom, 1gb of ram, 140GB HD, installed MicroXP on it (earlier today actually) and with the normal stuff running (Chrome/IRC/WinAMP) It idles around 200mb, I’ve not tried GIMP or Photoshop on it (Frankly I’m not going to bother trying anything later than CS2 as I can’t imagine it running too smoothly) but I’d imagine it will work okay as long as the image isn’t giant.
Microphone wise, whatever really, I just buy whatever desktop mic I can get my hands on after my previous one fails/sat on/snapped in half, using a “Technika” one atm from tesco for £8 the quality seems decent enough.
Buy another Deathadder.
