MBP’s are amazing. Personally if I had the money I’d buy one and just put linux/windows just because they are so nice, but what you do have to understand is that you are forking over some serious coin for this.
Although to be honest, it sounds like you’re falling for the “macs are good for video/image editing” myth. The Adobe CS suite is exactly the same on windows and linux (thats Photoshop, illustrator, after effects, dreamweaver, fireworks, etc), it is just not a reason at all to go with a mac. Sure there is FCP/Shake that are amazing pieces of software, but if you really needed them, you’d be forking over £3k for a Mac Pro without a second thought, not dithering between macbooks and iMacs.
Seriously, just buy a decent windows machine.

+1 to that, generally Apple-stuff DOES look nice and is well polished etc, but the monies really make me go for a normal one instead.

I have mac book pro 13* and its and I study programming so its awesome for his keyboard. Also if your going to run OS X then your battery life will be AMAZING and by amazing I say it runs clearly with music on headphones and some basic programming software for more than 6 hours ( thats how much my lessons last) oh ad the touch pad is awesome if you cba to carry mouse with you.
I am not the apple fan but I can say that mpb 13* is superior to any laptop in keyboard/battery life wise and yes they cost much more.
I also managed to play competitive tf2 with it on bootcamp windows

Btw just to get this clear im not trying to be an apple fag/fanboy (same thing) or anything its i have alot of work planned using Mac computers with adobe products.
I have the money why not? My irl friend has a mac mini with this screen http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/3231/2498/-/9554329/LG-W2261V-22-inch-Widescreen-LCD-Monitor-With-HDMI/Product.html he makes alot of music on it and he says he would defiantly recommend using the mini and he has had both. he says it’s “way better value than any other mac”

Edit: It costs more than a laptop, has an annoying OS and it’s frustrating to use in any other activities than editing videos.
