true i suppose but the same can be said for any MMORPG tbf.

Anyway i used to play SWG back in the day before JTL was released and loved it so im hoping this is an improvement over that. I’m also hoping the space part of the game includes trade between planets instead of just combat missions and also allow some freedom to just fly about but perhaps im getting ahead of myself.

Yeah SWG was the boy – I dont think the space combat in SWTOR is what you’re expecting mind, although it sounds pretty lame I think it’s going to work out pretty well.
They are basing it on the old school arcade games so your ship has a set destination point and travels there but you have to controll the movement of the ship and shoot shit. Going to kinda take away any freedom in space but I think it will allow for some pretty awesome looking combat and I’m pretty sure this is just in release and that they plan to release a more open and free space flight system.

Looks boring. I honestly don’t understand why nearly all MMOs are based around the paradigm of incredibly non-interactive combat, it’s just dull.

There will not be that many players in few months, but there will be still a lot of players. This is because there is so many hardcore SW fanboys in the world, like the first SW MMO was running almost 10 years or so.

This is true – it won’t die simply because you get to play with light sabers with your friends in a virtual environment where you don’t go to jail

Why are lightsabers so fuckin awesome!

WildCard

The only interesting thing in swtor is fact that all npc, quests etc will be fully voiced so progression through the game will feel less like a grind and more like a rpg. But as others have said will be same old stuff, and end game content ie raids pvp etc seems sparse.

If you want to play a sw mmo play the best one ever made :P

Liberator server was released few days ago which has the old nova code on pre-or. SO that server is extremley active, While the test server is still running with latest code for development.

Imagine will be a few K players on liberator as thats what original nova had before the OR

Swarlz

Oh really? I hadn’t really checked the swgemu for the past few months tbh – I’ll have to check it out again, maybe it can calm be down a bit until SWTOR released
