Microsoft Habu - Need to buy!

Yes yes I know it’s not an amazing mouse however it does the job for me. I have a slight problem in that I can’t seem to find many shops that sell this mouse (In the UK and that are in Stock).

Anyone else able to see if they can find it being sold (AND IN STOCK) in the UK? if so I shall gief u a valve gravelpit card signed! huzzah!

However if anyone here knows a mouse similar to the Microsoft Habu mouse in shape size dimensions and specs please let me know and I shall do some research into that mouse.

One thing to note the Habu is actually based off the Razer Death Adder, only problem is the shape of it is slightly different which is the only reason I had to originally (back in 2008) take it back and get the Habu, almost identical specs just different ergonomics.
See picture to understand why!

http://i51.tinypic.com/zval2s.jpg

That was the only reason I got the Habu over the Razer Deathadder, my 2nd finger from the right presses hard on the edge and on the habu the right mouse button covers the edge from it and thus my finger is saved from immense pain (after playing 1hour!) where as with the Deathadder after 1 hour my finger would go so numb I have to stop playing :)

Dimensions for the Habu are 129mm (length) x 68mm (width) x 43.5mm (height)

It can be 1mm +/- from those I guess but anything more would mean getting used to a new shaped mouse.

It must be boxed and new not USED

So if you have any ideas send me a message on steam or on irc #etf2l @ quakenet or just post here.

Cheers

Aye there were only two shops I found Chris too and that was one of them amusing thing is that shop charges £22 more than what its originally worth? it should be £30 and its £52 (BUT OH THEY DID A DISCOUNT FROM £60!!! that makes me feel much better 8-).

Annoying thing is Yank land Amazon is selling it for £30 or less brand new yet UK amazon doesn’t sell it ¬_¬.

Are you sure it’s only worth 30? The razer shop has the item (not in stock though) for $60 (~40 quid?).
Besides, if the only shop that has it in stock is charging too much money for it, well I guess that’s fair – they are after all the only ones that have it (or so it seems)!

Tried searching in some Dutch shops for you, can post from England so thats no problem. Nothing yet but will keep searching.

you should consider zowie ec1/ec2 they seem to have similar shape to habu

byte

Aye Coinz such a genius, the Zowie EC1 is almost an identical copy of the Habu shape and specs oddly enough!!

They any good as a brand and so on Coinz or?

One thing I don’t get is the dimensions on their website says the EC1 mouse is…

EC1: 128 x 43 x 62~70 mm

How can you have a height varying from 62 to 70mm? ?!? lol anyone able to explain this?

But other than that looks like a winner!

How about, the highest point on the mouse is 70mm and the low point is 62mm?
Or am i talking rubbish now?

byte

We’are all dumb that’s the width not the height my mistake but then again how can the width be adjustable? LOL :X

Also Coinz these mice are pretty expensive which is np, however as you are a guru with the whole windows sensitivity and ballz.

This mouse has no software with it, its dpi is set from the mouse itself and its polling rate is 1000hz by default. Will this override the windows sensitivity? like the Habu does, for example with the Habu I have to load my config for it in the software for it and then it uses the sensitivity set in there, and ignores windows.

Anyone else able to confirm?

Could be a replacable housing. Seen it on several other mice as well – they come with a small and a big housing, to fit the needs of the small and large handed!

No mouse dpi will override windows’ sensitivity – they are two entirely separate things. But with TF2’s new ‘raw input’ option, this doesn’t really apply.
(mouse reads input from movement, sends it to pc, software (windows, tf, w/e) reads and makes your cursor move. windows sensitivity only makes it so your mouse moves 2 pixels instead of 1 when you set a higher sens, and the other way around)
