This is me recording at 60 FPS and rendering at 60 FPS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os5Aicj8t4w which looks a lot better imo.

Monkeh, that video has no motion blur at all, but it’s a personal choice after all. I’m just sayin’ :)

This is a clip recorded in 300 fps and rendered at 30 fps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vl-H93KOUSI

Its all about using framerate to achieve a certain style. For example, the MmM video and decap’s Alienware highlights video use 1000fps rendered at 60fps (using frame blending).

I personally used 240fps rendered at 30fps for “plz plz – slow to mid”. (with the exception of the triple airshot by 2 sollys near the end which is 960fps rendered at 30fps).

However, Torden just used 30fps rendered at 30fps in the broder video and it looks just as good.

It looks great in all of them, its just a case of using it to effect, theres no “right” way to do it. Although as a rule of thumb, if you want to use frame blending, recording at a frame rate at least 8x higher than the final video. i.e. 30 x 8 = 240. 60 x 8 = 480

skyride…1000fps o.0 i don’t think my pc could take that!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2V1yvwJWeM that’s the 120fps, rendered at 60fps version. and looks a lot better than the one in my o.p to me, but i dunno what you guys think.

Why are you rendering at 60fps when youtube is capped at 30?

i recorded that at 800 fps, the first and second smooth part at 240, but i didn’t/don’t really know how to do that supersampling stuff so i just speeded up the footage as fast as possible, rendered it, imported into vegas, speed up again, render again etc untill it matches my audio and then add effects + render at 60 fps.
would be nice to do this in 1 step though, but does it look the same if i do so?

When you’re choosing the framerate in VirtualDub, add the audio first.

Then in Framerate settings, tick “Change so video and audio durations match”. That will do it.

well yeh but if i render it into 60fps in virtual dub you dont get that nice blur do you?

I got really confused with this thread. When i record my tgas (240 fps) i put “Change framerate to:” 240. Is it okay ?
Didnt undersand what supersampling mean.

same for me, kasuno, i just render with the same fps *dont change the output in vdub* and then make it faster in sony vegas
