could you add a history of clans a player has been through when you check their profile?

hi there

a long time ago i posted about you guys saying how great i think this league is, and i wanted to come back after watching some more match demos and reiterate myself by saying that i still think this place is great. i’ve been following the 3rd season and i really like how this is being run! kudos to everybody who works on this and i hope you guys can make this better! all you guys need is a fan blog who shows highlight plays or something like (not trying to plug or anything, but…) livesoccertv.com or whatever.

thanks for the great games to watch.

F2 and a few others already do a great job publishing the TF2 Gossip Blog, which basically details the events of the top teams and players within ETF2L. Although it doesn’t provide streaming coverage of games, it’s read by loads of players and I always look forward to an update :)

I have a pack of suggestions to the site system if you like. Well, I’ll give it a try:

– Team Admin, Calendar, Manage Events: Make Match-ID clickable so you can get directly to the match
– Team Admin, Calendar, Manage Events: Make Team-Names clickable so you can get directly to the team entry (to get contact data and similar)
– Team Admin, Calendar: There is a field for source TV but not for playing server. Would be nice if you could save on whose server you plan to play. IP+Port and Keyword selection “Ours”, “Theirs”, “Other” would be nice. Changes on match day would not be the problem as they might occur to the source TV field too. Also a visible server password field could help but it should only be visible to the match participating teams. Also, why can’t you prefill any maps?
– Team Admin, Calendar: Every participating team can change the schedule date and entry. Which must be in a certain way I can understand. But there is no history who changed what and when so it can be very confusing. An approving system might be better. Everytime one team changes the entry the other must approve or disapprove. Approving means the entry really changes. Disapprove: the entry stays the old but a reason must be entered. Of course when 2 clans are arguing a mod must help but this is the case today anyway.
– Team Admin, Calendar, Manage Events: Make member names clickable so you can get directly to their profiles
– Team Admin, Dashboard: Tells me about ETF2L general but there is no overview about my teams? Like “Recent comments in my teams/matches”, “Upcoming Matches/Fixtures of my team”, “Remaining matches/fixtures in my competions A, B, C,….”
– Team Admin, Competitions: Make competition name clickable to get competitions detail page.
– Profile: For teams we have a MSN entry but not for users?

This points mainly address comfort and maybe you won’t agree to them but I just wanted to give it a try ;)

Have fun,

About new team profiles, Leader’s/Deputy’s (and so on) should be listed first by their priorities imo.

However, +1! :)

Another suggestion: Add a “Submit results” link to every match youself participate in to go directly to submission screen.

Just a small suggestion – In every cup, I see two bronze cup winners. Why don’t these two people compete for third? Then we’ll have First – Second – Third and not First – Second – Joint Third. Not really important I know, but I’ve been confused about the whole 2 bronze winners for a while. (Just for future reference)

So currently to decide who attacks first on an attack and defence map we have a melee round, which can be a bit random. So I was thinking it might be better to play the other map first and have the winners of that map attack first.

Since there still seems to be a lot of teams in the wrong divisions (which with all the folds/reforms is going to be hard to change) you do get situations where teams are steam rolling the opposition on one map then have to defend till the clock runs out, then attack and win in a couple of minutes (on Gravel pit anyway) and then face defending for an age again. Having done this a few times it is a little soul destroying, doubly so when you spend more time in set-up than you do attacking. A lot of even games tend to go to the team more on form for that day so in theory this would still work.

Sure sometimes a team will just have better tactics for these sort of maps and you’ll end up with a boring situation anyway but hopefully you would cut down on this. If both maps are this type the obvious thing to do is have a turn each at attacking first.

I think you should change the “x days ago” in the forum and player profiles, and replace it by dates, it’ll be easier to know when it was. When it says “177 days ago” for example, you don’t immediately know which day/month it was.

I don’t know when you guys installed this, but I just noticed it and gotta say thanks. always wanted to have something like that.

PS: keep the “x days ago” and just add the date. ;)

I really like the X days ago. It makes me feel more comfortable. And in the occasion you do need to know an exact date (which should be retty rare), you can always convert it yourself. So: request denied :)

then add it to profile settings that you can turn it on dates or on days ;)
