Hey folks,

So I’m really looking forward to i52 as this will be the first LAN event I’ve attended. This means that I’m slightly at a loss as to how to transport my desktop and all the accessories, especially the monitor. I’m looking into PC/desktop carry cases for LAN events and also potentially a bag for the monitor.

Do any of you more experienced LAN players have advice on how to transport equipment without damaging it?

Thanks in advance.

Last I went, my friend had his old case and stuff (with styrofoam) to carry it in. Perhaps you could do something similar.

Oh also if any of you guys could recommend cases for either PC or monitor that would be awesome because there’s fucking loads of them… looking to spend £20-40 and my computer’s dimensions are 50 cm x 50 cm x 20 cm

Not sure yet, will either be by car or train. I live in Swindon, Wiltshire so it’s about 1.5 hours train journey to Conventry

If you are traveling by car, just chuck it in the boot. If you are going by train, usually people use a large suitcase ram it all in and pad out with clothing.

I would take out you graphics card and also consider taking off your CPU cooler if its large.

Hmm ok, I hadn’t considered that, I’ll have to find some anti-static bag(s) for my GPU

As long as youre the only one dealing with your equipment theres no really need to take out your GPU or whatever. Will just create work and im pretty sure most people dont do this. If youre going by plane however its a different deal.
