Un amour de Swann

Looks nice, keep up the good work! :D

rays

Thanks for the kind words. <3

Tree has released an update to his updater, so if you had tried to install a crosshair or something and it didn't work, try now.

Fixed the updater so that picking a custom crosshair works again!
Hopefully it won't break so easily next time.

Version 2.93 is out.

It includes:
-A revamped Medic UI, (including new pulsing Uber colors, can be disabled).
-Redid freeze-panel screen.
-Fixes to the item inspect panels and freeze-panels to prevent them from going off of the right of the screen.
-Flipping of primary and secondary Target IDs, to make it easier for medics to see who they’re healing.
-Various bug/positioning fixes.

It can be downloaded here:

https://github.com/downloads/raysfire/rayshud/rayshudv293.zip

Or via the updater released by Tree:

Regular Uber bar.

As always, the previous uber bars I’ve used are still in the HUD, you just have to activate them in “HudAnimations_tf.txt” file in your tf/scripts folder. Search for “HudMedicCharge”, and uncomment the lines in front of the type of uber flash you’d like, and comment the ones you wouldn’t. Remember to do this for both the charge label as well as the bar itself!

Minmode version on the way!

-Ability to open up loadout menu by pressing “E” while mousing over a class.
-Fixed an issue where a medic’s health would be covered up by your own.
-Darkened the primary/no clip ammo colors when low on ammo. (The pink color)
-Fixed health cross not lining up on the freezepanel.
-Fixed a few positioning errors on medic charge meter.
-Added in minmode support.

HOW TO INSTALL MINMODE

To do this, just copy all of the folders inside of the “minmode” folder, and paste them into your tf folder. It’s essentially the same as installing the hud normally, the only extra step is making sure that the files you copy over are the ones in the “minmode” folder and not the root directory.

Remember that if you’re a 4×3 user to copy those files in the “4_by_3_ratio” folder and paste them into your tf/resource/ui folder!

EDIT: The installer now also works for minmode; all you should have to do is check a box to install it.

____

Also, if you previously were using the normal version and were wondering whether or not minmode sacrifices your ability to toggle the scoreboard, the answer is no. I personally enjoy the scoreboard toggle, so I wanted to make it available regardless of what version of the hud you use. The only downside to this is that I was forced to make essentially two different huds; but I don’t think it was that big of a deal.

Again, if you have any questions/complaints/comments, you’re free to yell at me. Thanks again for checking out my hud. :3

EDIT: The installer should be good to go. Here’s a quote from Tree (featuring the download link).

Rayshud installer updated to have a checkbox if you want rays sweet new minmode version of the hud. I did very little testing, it will probably destroy the whole planet.

rays

Version 3.01 is out.

It includes:
-Compatibility with the new Christmas update.

NOTE: This isn’t the final version. Stuff associated with the new Medigun doesn’t work properly just yet, this was just a rushed fix to make everything not crash upon startup. I’ll be adding in a more detailed and aesthetically pleasing update in the coming days.

Anyways, you can download it here:

rays

Version 3.02 is out.

It includes the following changes:

-Fixed tournament spec hud to work on MvM.
-Made Vaccinator UI look not as ugly.
-Updated tournament spec hud for those on a 4×3 resolution.
-Fixed MvM scoreboard on 4×3 resolutions.
-Minor changes to the wave status panel on MvM.
-Removed unnecessary white background on team select menu.

You can download it here:

Or via the updater by Tree:

About the Vaccinator UI:

I’m aware that there’s a faint shadow behind the current number of vaccinator charges/ubercharge percentage. I’m currently looking for a workaround, but until Valve releases an update fixing this, I’m afraid there’s not much I can do. I know it doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing as it previously did; I plan on sending out an email to Valve to inquire about it. Sorry for the inconvenience. :<

Thanks for creating this HUD, I love it!

However I can’t find ThinCross in the installer and that crosshair is not perfectly centered, at least on 1680×1050. You can see it if you scope in.

Hope that helps, keep up the good work!

rays

Hello, thank you for the compliment!

The hud crosshairs at the current time are only perfectly aligned on a 1920×1080 resolution, as that’s the one I used when doing it myself. It’s kind of weird, but for every resolution, the crosshairs have to be lined up differently. Silly stuff, I know. :<

As for the crosshair not being on the installer, thanks for pointing this out! We're aware of this, and plan to fix it when our new installer comes out soon.

In fact, when the new installer comes out, not only will ThinCross be on the installer, but we also plan to have all crosshairs aligned on all resolutions, so this should eliminate both problems entirely. :3

lol have fun with that

If your crosshair font has properly centered glyphs you don’t need to align anything, just center the cExLabel and adjust the size to fit the pixel grid of each resolution. I hope for your sake that this is what you’re planning to do :> I’ve been thinking about doing a table with 2px, 4px and 6px values for my own crosshair. The Ell’s HUD crosshair is at the top of hudlayout.res file if you wan’t to check it out.

Really great hud, have been using this for the past week! :)

Version 3.03 is out.

It contains the following changes:

-Updated font to be consistent throughout most menus.
-Got rid of the “ghost” 0 behind medics’ ubercharge percentages.
-+Note: This doesn’t apply to the vaccinator. Until there is a better fix, the ghost ubercharge % will still remain.
-Fixed cross behind larger enemies’ health being cut off to the top and left when running low.
-Added in sapper meter for MvM.
-Removed background in MvM wave status.
-Added in Konr wings crosshair. (clockwork/yz50 crosshair)
-Re-added in option to enable the old, centered class/team select menus.
-Added in option to enable a spy disguise image.
-Fixed conditional images (spy, bleed, marked for death, etc.) not appearing on huds with the health cross turned off.
-Moved up the item panel on freezecams and spectate mode.

You can download it here:

_____

About the Medic UI:

This update should eliminate the ugly “ghost” 0 that was previously appearing in version 3.02. However, this will cause the vaccinator to lose it’s own dropshadow, as well as cause the “ghost” ubercharge percentage behind the number of vaccinator charges. This isn’t a perfect fix yet, as I still don’t have a workaround, but for the time being it’s slightly more appealing to the eye than the medic UI in version 3.02.

_____

About the spy disguise images:

Here’s screenshots of the new spy disguise images:

While disguised:
http://puu.sh/1N1WO

While cloaked:
http://puu.sh/1N1X1

In order to enable this feature, you need to navigate to your HudAnimations_tf.txt in your “tf/scripts” folder and open it up. Once it’s open, hit “Ctrl+F” and search for the following sections: HudSpyDisguiseFadeIn and HudSpyDisguiseFadeOut. From there, I listed instructions on what lines to uncomment.

To uncomment a line, simply remove the two slashes at the beginning of the line.

_____

About the old team/class menus:

To enable them, simply navigate to your “tf/resource/ui” folder, and find “Teammenu-center.res” and “ClassSelection-center.res”, renaming them to “Teammenu.res” and “ClassSelection.res”, overwriting the ones in place.

_____

Screenshot of the new crosshair:

You can find it at the bottom of the crosshairs section in hudlayout.res. It’s not included in the installer I don’t believe, but it will be when the new installer is finished.

EDIT: Crosshair was taken with permission from the creator.

Could we have a secondary ubercharge meter under the crosshair just like in PV/m0rehud? I could do that myself but it would be nice to have it by default. :>
