TF2 Crash on certain custom maps

Hey,
I’ve had a problem since an update a couple of weeks ago (not sure exactly which one) where my PC crashes when I try to load either freight or gully. Doesn’t matter whether its a pickup server, match server, pub server, local server, it happens the same. Can’t really seem to find any solution to it either.

have exactly the same bug. my experience so far is:
when i launch tf2 with fps cfg, low res and dxlevel 8, it crashes.
when i launch tf2 with high quality, high res and dxlevel 9, everything works properly.
i guess its an issue with the dxlevel tbh, dont really know exactly though

Just tried it with -dxlevel 98 and its fine. I’m using the normal m0res config and previously had no dxlevel specified (so presumably it was using dxlevel 9x).
However, I just tried laoding it with dxlevel 81 and it works?
Ah well, got it sorted.
rofl? can you teach me how to randomly sort problems out? would be kinda handy in most of daily lifes situations.
no, seriously. what exactly did you do? i would love to be able to play those maps too :x
