Hello! We’re a new website aiming to bring you a fresh source for news, articles and event coverage for 6v6 and Highlander. Our casters and cameramen will be covering ETF2L High 6s, ESEA IM as well as EU/NA UGC Platinum & ETF2L Premiership Highlander. Weekly match previews, predictions, interviews and the odd look at the whole TF2 scene will all be brought to you for the mentioned leagues in EU/NA, but we’ll also be bringing you the view from down under from our Oceanic 6s content team!

Hopefully this introduction has caught your attention enough that you’ll pay us a visit on The Spire.

Im glad there is a site for EU HL articles since TFTV decided that apparently covering more than one gamemode hurts the massive presence 6s has in the esport scene. If you wanted to get some more NA HL coverage have you considered talking to the guy who writes the https://thekillerexclusivetf2.wordpress.com/

Goodness! This thread looks a bit lonely. Sorry we haven’t been bumping this as much as our TFTV thread (http://www.teamfortress.tv/32203/the-spire-new-tf2-news-coverage-website) or our twitter (https://twitter.com/thespiretf2/). In case you missed it we’ve written quite a few articles on the site already so check it out!

Here’s my latest one as an example: http://www.thespire.tv/the-final-fracas-etf2l-high-6s-grand-final-preview/
Hope you enjoy it! :)

I’ve just been asked by someone in the High HL division to write articles for it, would you guys want that?

What I’d like to read (even more than actual coverage of both 6s and HL) would be more opinion pieces. I really enjoyed the articles written by lurppis for hltv.org commenting on the bigger picture of cs/cs:go from a competitive perspective, e.g. what went wrong with a certain update to the game and how to fix it (directly adressing valve), what should be changed/kept considering the tournament structure of majors (i.e. all the group stage debates, bo1 vs. bo3 etc.). The blog entry of Sideshow arguing for a major LAN in NA would be the best recent example how to adopt content like this for the TF2 scene.

A competitive scene grows as much as you talk/write about it. There are a lot of topics worth being discussed by people with interesting insights or (maybe) controversial opinions. We had gossip pages, we had coverage pages and now with MM coming up and a potential increase of recipients of the TF2 competitive scene we should have a page on which discussions about relevant competitive content are not only lead in the forums.

My only personal reservation about writing this kind of content is this community can be somewhat prone to pitch-forking you if you write an opinion they deem to be false. I sadly am nowhere near experienced in the game as someone like Sideshow who has been around the block a few times. So someone like me could have their credibility destroyed by writing articles people disagree with. Perhaps when I’m more respected I might go out on a limb and write an opinion piece but until then I wanna be careful about what I write.

I did not expect you to be the one writing these. It was rather a general suggestions for the site. Get someone in who is capable of it, reputation should not be a thing if the writing and the reasoning behind it is decent. You can build up a reputation even though/just because trolls or unreasonable persons are always shit talking your writing. (You should have a thick skin for this anyway).

it’s a great site, but i’d love to see some banter around there. playing with inspiring figures such as hildreth, grenja, goreston and the occasional muuq, i feel the need to express my feelings freely and bring joy to the world.

After a thrilling season of High 6s, I think it’s about time we looked at the other equally exciting tournament that has been happening concurrently with the 6s playoffs; ETF2L High division Highlander.

That’s right it’s time to delve into the format where no class is forbidden, no gimmick too EU, no med pick too unimportant.

Let’s take a look at this season’s High teams from our view from The Spire.
