This is a message I sent to Robin Walker through valve support :
Hello Mr. Walker, my name is Jacky.
First of all, I want to say I am a huge fan of you.
Your work, and the fact you take part in alot of TF2 stuff, not many game creators do.
Mr. Walker, I play TF2 competitively and recently an update for TF2 came out, which the biggest thing about it is this :
“- Disabled plug-ins that would allow users to connect to secure game servers even when -insecure is specified on the command line
– Continued use of such plug-ins will risk your Steam account getting VAC banned.”
I used to use a plug-in that allowed that thing.
The plugin was made to increase the fov_desired from 90 all up to 130.
I understand the fact that it could have been used as a cheat but putting the limit on 90 really isn’t the solution.
There are sevrel groups already that are trying to get the limit up to 110 since I can’t be used as cheat or neither will it be annyoing to look at in-game.
Mr. Walker, my request to you is, please, do something about it, the competitive scene is huge, and this is a big hit to it.
Higher Fov just seems like a sensible setting to allow, it’s just personal preference really.
If you could put the maximum cap to 110 – 120, it will all be so much better sir.
Also, think about the work a man put in to make the exprience of the game more enjoyable for us and now all his work is thrown down the drain.

I hope you will be reading this, if you would, you would be the greatest.
We in the competitive zone all over the world have been using these plugins, we will all be greatful if you actually do something about this.
I think, that instead of taking care of the “Plug-ins” you could be trying to take care of real cheating, like actual wallhacks, aimbotting, speedhacking, ESP / Aim assist, triggerbots, and so many more.
We will respect any decent decision you make.

I also sent the TF team a complaint that is simliar to that.
I believe it’s a step on getting our sweet OpenPlugin back.
If you feel like fov_desired 90 is giving you a headace, well go send Robin or TF team a complaint about it, hopefully they will do something due to public demand.
