From one problem to another.. Since the last update, my TF2 has been crashing to desktop without any error.. TF2 still running in the backgroung after it crashed to desktop, and still can hear the sound ingame. I have defragmented cache files and verify integrity of game cache still the problem persists. To play it, i have to restart the game and after a whille it crashes again. Any solutions? Thanx in advanced

updated the drivers to your graphic card?

delete the command; mat_antialias “0” from your config/autoexec

Here’s how you open Registry Editor:

Start Menu > Run > regedit

Surf down to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerMemory Management

Double click on “PagedPoolSize”. Hexadecimal is listed first. Change the “Value Data” to one of these below:
(Note: You only need to enter EITHER Hexadecimal or Decimal. They both are the same.)

Megabytes Hexadecimal Decimal
192Mb 0c000000 201326592
256Mb 10000000 268435456
384Mb 18000000 402653184

I went with the 384Mb option and it worked perfectly.

Once you are done, make sure you reboot your computer.

If the crash would be related to page pool memory, he would see a big red warning in the top left corner of TF2 saying that he’s out of page pool memory, a while before it crashes. Seem like he doesn’t, so that not the issue.

sparkle,

Have you found a way to re include this command back into your config? If I alt tab it won’t maximise again?

why don’t you just put into launch options -windowed -noborder and thats it? u can alt tab all the time, and there won’t be a feeling that you are playin on windowed.

Might have an impact on the mouse sensivity, at least it does for me – feels a bit less responsive
