Like the topic name says:
Which command disables/enables the visual effects of Specialized/Professional Killstreaks seen on the weapon?

I am using chris maxframes cfg and I’m unable to see any effect on my weapon, that has a Specialized killstreak attached to it.
Would be cool if I could enable/fix that, since I really want to see that effect :D

You need to get killstreaks. :>

I’ve been told it doesn’t show in dx8, can’t confirm however

You don’t say??!

Jokes aside, the gloomy effect on the weapon is not visible and I suggest it has something to do with the maxframes cfg

Would appreciate any support, as I don’t want to deinstall the cfg and find out myself which command it is by simple trial and error.

edit: so is it the dx8 or any specific command?

dx8 is not the problem from my understanding, i have seen people use it and they have dx8 so idk

Might have something to do with mat_specular, try that

Popcorp

The sheen effects do not display when running DirectX 8 setups.

okay, messing around with mat_specular didn’t change anything

therefore I might have to wait till valve fixes this (around christmas time as always) or switch to dx9

Thank you for your help guys!

KoP!?

It wont get “fixed”, this shading effect is not supported under dx8

There was an e-mail from Tf2 developer, saying that Sheens are CURRENTLY not supported for dx8

Expect Sheens for dx8 in 2 years aka Valve time
