It seems that it doesn’t work anymore : i changed LOD bias to 15 (120h) but nothing has changed visually :'(
i’ve got the latest chris config (max frames).

make sure you did not update nvidiainspector.

eilgin

i’ve used the one given in the first post where you can set lod bias to 15 … idk, maybe it’s because i update my graphic driver to the latest version (310) ?

i read it and i even used the config files you’ve put in the rar file but it didn’t changed anything visually apart some pixellisation…
my LOD bias is configured to 0x00000078 (15.0) and i’ve set dxlevel to 90.

Use:

mat_filterlightmaps 1
mat_filtertextures 1

wL.

why do people not just use OpenPlugin?

literally there’s nothing to set your textures any lower than openplugin with mat_picmip 10 (color blind people wont have much more of a difficulty even with 10)

Cuz when you are using it, you are under risk that you will get banned VAC

According to this https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Developer_Console that’s really not that clear.

those params are already set with chris’s config (high frames). Anyway, it doesn’t change anything :(

this is a screenshot with lod bias set to 15.0 :

“Note:You will never be VAC banned for using built-in cheat commands.”

In other words: using built in cheat commands is exploiting and Valve doesn’t consider it cheating. Real cheats are separate applications or applications that inject dlls into the game. Loading a dll via a command that Valve has made available is bending the rules – not breaking them. That’s my interpretation at least.

Also: because of Source engine’s bug you can see through walls if you set a really high fov. See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0fnXN2Feh4 This however requires changing the fov on the fly in game and OpenPlugin doesn’t allow that.

Question: Is there anyone who actually got VAC banned because he was using a plugin like that or is that just an urban myth?

I don’t think we even need an answer because Valve already blocked OpenPlugin. At least in its original form.

I’m pretty sure this already has been fixed as I can’t use OpenPlugin anymore.
