Good pick for you
He’s a good pyro + friendly guy. Deserves a good team :)
Whenever I play a pub and a pyro airblasts a rocket back at me, killing me effortlessly I say: “damn what a Lanny.”
If I get flare sniped across the map and wonder how on earth someone can hit such a shot, I do not swear. I just say: “damn, that guy is such a Lanny.”
One time, I was about to drop the medic with a few skillfully placed rockets, but a pesky pyro got in the way and airshot reflected my rockets straight back at me, leaving me with nothing but a respawn timer and a broken dream. “Lanny moment,” I mumbled to myself as I held back the tears.
To me, Lanny become a word to call someone who is good on pyro.
One day, I decided to boot up my computer and play some competitive tf2. I hadn’t played in a while, but I was certain my div 1 experience on spy would carry me through. Palms sweating, I stared at the back of an unsuspecting medic. This was my moment. As the blade animation switched to signal a backstab was imminent, all of a sudden I saw my hud burst in flames. I had been stopped. No backstab, no drop, the opposing team saved. What had happened? “Lanny,” I groaned, “my kryptonite.” I retired from Highlander that day.
It was a warm Wednesday night. I was getting ready to play my first Highlander playoffs match, everything was on the line. As a demoman main, I knew my input would be essential to securing my team the win. I had victory on my mind, Eye of the Tiger blasting in the background, hyping me up. This was my time. I had spent hours analysing my opponent’s demos. Nothing could stop me now, I knew their every move. At the last minute, however, they asked for a merc. “Fine,” I said, “it will throw off their team chemistry, giving us the advantage.” “Who is this Lanny guy anyway? Probably a noob.” Famous last words. The whole game, I could not deal a single point of damage with my stickies, so often were they reflected back at me, tossed in my face like my mother’s accusations I haven’t achieved anything in life. Lanny singlehandedly won them that game. When it was all over, I tried to find my sister for comfort, but she didn’t seem home. I called her and when she picked up, I heard a familiar voice in the background as she giggled “stop, you’re so handsome and muscular.” It was Lanny. He had taken my win and now he had taken my sister’s virginity as well. Get this man on your team or he will destroy you.
