Here we go boys, its time for another preseason cup! Here’s how it’ll play out. Signups close on March 12th at 18 CET.

CUP FORMAT AND SCHEDULE
- Groups are divided over their signup tiers
- Every group should consist of 4 teams
- Top 2 in each group advance to the knockout stage
- Each knockout bracket contains 8 teams
- Single elimination knockout stage.
The format might differ or change depending on the signup number.
- Signups close: March 12th at 18 CET
- Group stage & knockout stage: March 14th-16th
The default times for each round will be set as follows (All times are in CET):
- Group stage round 1: March 14th 20:00 (Tuesday)
- Group stage round 2: March 14th 21:15
- Group stage round 3: March 15th 20:00 (Wednesday)
- Knockout stage quarter finals: March 15th 21:15
- Knockout stage semi finals: March 16th 20:00 (Thursday)
- Knockout stage final: March 16th 21:15*
*We expect that games will be able to start around this time. This is only possible once all semi finals are done. In the case semi finals take a bit longer the finals will start as soon as the semi finals are over. Otherwise we’ll look for another solution.
MAP RULES
During the group stage the Attack/Defense maps will be played BO2. During the knockout stage this will be BO3.

Map Rotation:
- Group stage round 1: pl_badwater
- Group stage round 2: cp_gullywash_final1 & koth_coalplant_b7

- Knockout stage quarter finals: Team Choice
- Knockout stage semi finals: Team Choice
- Knockout stage final & consolation final: Team Choice
UNLOCK RULES
The list of allowed unlocks can be found over here on whitelist.tf.
Changes from Season 11’s whitelist are unbanning:
- Diamondback
- Red-Tape Recorder
- Short Circuit
- Air Strike

This is quite possibly the worst whitelist I’ve seen in any etf2l cup ever. We tried short circuit in s10 and it was awful, nothing has changed since then it doesn’t need to be tested again. As for the others I’m up for testing them but I don’t think what they add will be near how much they take away.
Good stuff, might as well test the darwins as well when we are at it and see how big a difference these unlocks really make in game.

Why doesn’t ETF2L uses Ashville instead of Coalplant? It’s way more beautiful, cleaner and overall nicer to play
Coalplant plays better imo, more open than ashville and is more enjoyable to play just in general
coalplant trades a slightly better designed lobby for massively increased sightlines, a lower that’s basically a deathtrap, and generally makes flank classes even more powerful at the cost of combo classes

Does this mean neither Razorback nor DR are getting banned next season? If they were it would make sense to include them in the changes to test all the changes’ effect on each other.
