ETF2L Ladders

ETf2L is currently hosting a 6v6 as well as a Highlander Ladder.  The ETF2L ladders are incorporated into the site in exactly the same way as the cups and leagues, meaning that scheduling your games and submitting results should be very easy. While everyone is most welcome, the ladder is still being worked on and could face some changes and updates.

Signups are currently open and any 6on6/9on9 team with enough registered players is welcome to join. Teams can be challenged on the Ladder page (by clicking the email link) or from the “Challenge” page at the dashboard. The map pool consists of many maps including the ones from the current seasons and competitions. Teams can be challenged at any time (the same team cannot be challenged twice in under 5 days however).

Open Challenges

Teams may start so called “open challenges”. These are displayed on the open challenges section on the dashboard. The challenge will show the time and date along with the teams rating rounded to the nearest hundred. Any team may accept these challenges, however accepting a blind challenge and then refusing to play will result in a default loss, so please think carefully before accepting an open challenge.

Map of the Month

A couple of maps are selected every few weeks as bonus maps. These maps will gain you double the number of points if you win, or you will loose half the number of points if you loose. These maps will be shown on both the challenge and ladder standings pages.

Points system

The current points system is based on the ELO rating system. With k = 16 for > 2000 points, k = 24 for > 1500 points, k = 32 for > 800 and k = 40 for the rest. All teams start with 2500 rating points. Points are lost for inactivity and teams in the top 5 may not reject challenges or they will incur a 10 point penalty, furthermore teams rejecting challenges within 5 positions of their position will also incur a 10 point penalty. Accepted and unplayed challenges will send a reminder email after 7 days and after 14 days will incur a 5 point penalty for both teams. These point will be removed if the game is played and the results submitted.

Points are also scaled based on the points difference of the map, for example a 5-0 win will scale your points by 1.34 where as a 1-0 win will scale your points by 1.07.

Rules

The rules are based on the normal ETF2L League rules. The general rules apply to all competitions, Season 10 rules to 6v6 and highlander rules to 9v9.

Feedback

This system is likely to be updated but we’d be interested in any comments from teams playing in the ladder. If you want to comment on the ladder itself or the regarding functions and rules, feel invited to post a reply in our feedback thread.
