Well, it hardely matters now anyway. I suppose i\'d have liked some warning over this. Good to hear they\'re giving achivement items back. I want my flaregun back.

I suppose it was cheating the system, yes. I\'d argue that the system is silly but that won\'t get me anywhere.

For the last time i\'m not botherd about the hat. I said that twice so less telling me to stop the qq over the hat. I don\'t like being branded a cheater and being punished for something that\'s not wrong. It\'s just rude. :/

And when it came to it i felt like too much of a dick letting people burn to death, so i\'m not following though on the threat. The creater of the steam group feels the same way. 1000 members however, our point got through.

And tapley, i have sex with plenty of things thank you. However lets not persue this or it\'ll go on to mother jokes.

You\'re using third party software to idle, even if it didn\'t give you an advantage ingame it\'s still manipulating the game with an external program which is clearly against the Steam TOS. Blame yourselves.

Read the blog post:
\"We\'re going to adopt a zero tolerance policy for external applications used to manipulate the persistent item system. Due to us not having a policy in place prior to today, this time we\'re only removing the items earned through cheating the system.\"

Particularly \"We\'re going to adopt\" and \"Due to us not having a policy in place prior to today\". They admit they had NO policy before they did this. Would a warning have been so hard?

and TOS:

Steam and the Steam Software may include functionality designed to identify software or hardware processes or functionality that may give a player an unfair competitive advantage when playing multiplayer versions of any Steam Software, other Valve products

How does idler give you an unfair competative advantage? TOS has nothing on idler.

We realise it won\'t do much.

However we don\'t appreciate being branded cheaters for doing something that they never gave any clues that they were going to do anything about.

Simply \"Stop doing it or we\'ll kill your items\" would have been awesome. What they did is rude and spiteful.

Say there\'s a strip of road. You overtake someone on it and there\'s a photo taken of you doing it. The next week a sign goes up saying no overtaking and you get a ticket because you did that when the rule wasn\'t in effect. You wouldn\'t stand for it.

I\'m not baww\'ing over the lost hat, it\'s the principle of the thing.

Well, a lot of us have been hit by this and we\'ve decided to make a group on the matter.

We can\'t have valve making up a rule and applying it retroactively. It\'s not right.

Details are on the steam group:

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Healersagainsthalos

The idea is those with halos on pubs will not be healed/extinquished until valve apologises.

Discuss.

On a personal note i lost a hat but i\'m not fussed. I could have lost some weapons too as i tidied up and kept some idler weapons apparently. I medic for my clan so i\'d have been pissed if i\'d have lost my Kritz, blutsauger or ubersaw.
