Not read really anything in this thread. But it should be kept as TeamUK. No point in splitting it up theres no question about it. Me- being a faggot and scottish, i couldnt stand the thought of having team scotland, team wales etc.. its bad enough in real sports how bad scotland is at anything, i dont like the thought of continuing this trend into gaming... lol. Plus i think its hard enough to find people to create a good competitive team for UK as it is.

Hmm, only division 1/2 players get the priveledge of representing their country… So really its just a private party for all you pr0s? Its not about winning - as you said, it is about representing your country/pride..
[/quote]

Cmon nations dont pick players from your local towns 5 aside pub football team to represent your nationality/country, they pick the best lets be fair. Same applys to any games that play in a national league etc. Be realistic man.

My brother made the map, we compared mid map fps with badlands on 3 different computer specs and almost equivalent to badlands, i do agree and i did mention b3 was a better build for gameplay but fps on both versions are pretty much the exact same.

Your problem Lupus, is vista 64bit. i\'m not being bias towards the operating system atall i actually love it, but theres something about it that just doesnt quite work with teamfortress 2 i get ridiculous fps drops in the stupidest occasions. I experiemented with different drivers tweaking removing aero modifying drivers nothing worked, even tho every other game was fine.

I think at the end of the day the choice of pcgamer delivering this sort of lan straight after an i-event is such a bad move and takes place at the end of september, please state of im wrong but arent like half of \"pro\"/serious/Competitive gamers are students in University/College. I also think it boils down to the lan location aswell. For example take alook at how many UK based teams their are for tf2 signed up for etf2l season 3- 7 uk teams, and atleast half of that number are mainly fun based none serious teams. The tf2 community in the UK is completely dire. I think the conclusion is that this PCGamer lan is going to kill the opportunity of tf2 becoming a lan game. I think this will effect alot of Multigaming organisations and lan event organisers when planning for the future of tf2 competivitely. I\'m not slating tf2 as a whole i love the game and think it has a bucket load of potential but i think we\'ll find the executation of this event is going to knock tf2 a few steps backwards rather than fowards.

Slightly off topic. Dont wanna hi-jack this thread. I use to believe this game was growing competitively in a very positive way. But im rethinking this thought alot. For example look at the upcoming lan PCgamer on the 27th-28th. 1st prize £7500 and a total prize pool of £15,000. Sooo- i decided to do alittle research with the ongoing online qualifiers for the PCgamer lan right now. 26 teams signed up for the qualifiers(not a bad number) So i decided to find out, how many teams are definately going to the lan in the UK. I asked atleast 80% of the teams in the qualifiers and only 3 are offically booked and 2 teams are maybes. I feel bad going to a lan with a higher prize pools than CSS and COD4 and they have 10x more teams signed up for the lan than tf2. Its almost embarrassing. The future of tf2 competitively is looking grim and then you have that steam topic that brings up alot of points.

New topic: “New custom map worth taking a look! cp_freight_b3”

So season three is starting soon and i thought id bring up a possible candidate for one of the custom maps for season 3.

So why mention this map?

For starters- I think its the first custom map ive ever played that actually plays like a Valve control point map. It is very simple to learn, Small(no bigger than Granary) and very addictive to play it also has a little twist in it which is great fun.

So whats the feedback so far?

Well i\'ve only been able to arrange one pcw on this map with 4kings and they gave it the thumbs up along with us. I\'ve also arranged a few mixes for this map. Again the feedback was extremely positive.

Anything else?

Find a bug or a suggestion please state them. The sorry bugger that made this map happens to be my brother so getting incontact with him is easy for me. Final version will be released very shorty after it has been through a good few sessions of testing by you guys! (its pretty much polished anyway)

Description

\"Where trains mean business\"

Freight can be thought of as a bonus map. With CP_Steel progress slowing down towards the finish, Fishbus didn\'t want to just work on fixes for older maps, so he created something within a month to test out some of his optimization abilities, and to keep him familiar with firing out new ideas for maps.

The product of this is cp_freight. A map where trains mean business, literally. The map has an \'S\' shaped structure with two rails running through the map, from each teams last point, towards the middle and then back towards the enemies base point. Unlike cp_well, the trains have been extended in size and slowed down, to make them more involved during a battle. The trains are random, and are quite happy to run over or frustrate RED or BLU equally.

The second and fourth point are inside the teams warehouse, slowing down a steamroll and bringing the fight indoors. It breaks the pace and of course, the surrounding environment.

So enjoy this simple and symmetrical control point map with a more involved train system.
