Wouldnt it be relevant to make a new topic where you can continue the never-ending \"IS DEMO OP/should demo be able to 1shot-kill?!\" and keep this one about tftrue?

If we believe the readme, no class does less nor more damage then before (in the long run), so this basicly cant be a nerf - unless you call it a nerf for all classes.

As i see it, theres 2 relevant questions here:
- Do we want tftrue to be mandatory when playing matches? (i really dont see this as a problem)
- Do we want to get rid of very high AND very low damage outputs and get an average instead?

The last would be answered with big fat yes from me. Even if it means i never get a cap against 4k.

I just have to say, saying \"valve will save us!\" IS naive. Ive been playing CS, TF2 and abit CSS and i know valve almost never did anything for either games competetive sites. I havent played enought TFC to know valves support there, but valve has always been known for its support towards the pub-folks, and never did much to the competetive site. Ive seen cod4 and fifa tunaments among others, where the creator/publisher have loaded huge money prices in, valve would never do anything like that. I really dont see where you get your optimisme from, valve never really cared about us, and after 10+ years i dont see that changing :).

Sry to take this offtopic, girls are imo more then welcome on the tf2 scene, difference between people is always welcome. I have to say though, that even when computer gaming should be a place where gender should be equal, ive yet to see a woman or a female team who can play up with the best of the boys. I guess thats what he meant. Now, why did this thread have to take that turn? :)

Ok, sry for offtopic, but L4D (versus) requires alot of teamwork. I completly agree thats its way too random for competetive gaming, but its still highly teamwork-depended. If you havnt had a versus game with some friends and completly raped the survivors by some sweetly timed boomer/hunters/smoker attack, you havnt seen the beaty of L4D ;>.

Anyway, TF2 was the first game which actually made me quit cs1.6 completly after 9 years, i can\'t see a so well-polished game die anytime soon.

Edit: Ok, just read the whole thread, and i guess i follow now. Fenrir, im sorry but you sound like the random newb whining over cs1.6 would die 5 years ago (or perhaps a guy bitter after he never found his div3 clan?). L4D is never gonna be a competetive game, unless theres released a pro-mod with no random respawn, which would kill the idea of the game. Every scene ive known have had some dominating team/player at some point, and its never lasted forever. People pick up on whats going on, and evolve. The competetive TF2 scene has grewn ever since it was established, and with valve still planing on more updates, the game will continue to get attention. I do agree that some well-orginised lans could pace up the speed even further, but as you can read, alot of things are happening behind the scene. My dearest wish is that valve pops out and make a grand tf2 turnament, but unfortunatly thats never been valves style. Lucky for us theres dedicated ppl around, and as long as they stay, i cant see TF2 die in any way. Great games like Farcry2/L4D/Fallout3 and w/e may draw ppl away for a while, but they\'ll come back for the good \'old\' tactical feel of TF2.

Fine movie overall but i have to agree with some of the criticism.
The intro made no sence to me (Lots of effect, and then a 3rd person view of an attack where nothing happens?).
In some of the frags i was like wtf because either there was so many effects that i had no idea what was going on, or the clip was way too short.
For another movie: Let the frags get some air, dont cut ½ a second after the kill. I\'d love to see alot more music sync, and either ease down on the effects, or use some that doesnt confuse the viewer. if you have watched the same frag over and over again its easy for you to see what happens even with a ton of filters and shit, but us viewers only gets to see it once :). What i rarely see is the same frag viewed again either from different angels, or with and without the effects, i think that would have been really nice here.

Anyway, im not trying to be a dick, just my experience with what i saw :). Keep up the good work!

To make this interesting for top 5-100 teams, you really need sponsers in on this. Like F2 pointed out, handing out money to top3 teams isnt that exciting. But, say you got 2-3 bigger companies who could throw in a big handfull of hardware (maybe even money?), i think many would be more excited. If prices was like:
nr. 1/2/3 money+hardware
4-xx Hardware prices.
Maybe even have a B turnament, where everyone who lost first round in playoff or w/e goes to B turnament, and with some smaller hardware prices goes to fx. top3. Then you have the most dedicated/best to fight for the biggest prices, and the lower skilled teams still got something to fight for, against teams around same level as them. They could even get coverage with finals in B turney, which maybe would motive lower skilled clans to get more dedicated.

What im really trying to say is, if you want to go \"ETF2L PREMIER\" with more then top10 fighting for 3 prices, you gotta have something more to offer, and to get the clans below top10 to compete. The above is how i\'ve seen it done before. Anyway though, nice to see you work on something like this, i think its just what the community is ready for atm.

Ps. talked to Steelseries? They sponser like every big clan and esport site i know, and selling basicly the entire european TF2 community should be possible :). Again, gl.
